CCD re-energized. Will attempt to assemble Fall team!

August 20, 2010
A grumpy CCD, dealing with several personal issues, will make an attempt to re-assemble a Frosty Fall Ball team.  We have many question marks entering the season - little Freddo's on the way, the stay home lockdown of Artie "Pants", TK's attempts to play ice hockey, all the way to a possible return of Al "Manny" Schmidt.  The league of choice would be New Alliance with 8:15 starts.  Please monitor your e-mail boxes for this invitation-only affair.  We will see the responses and determine if a team can be put together.  Stay tuned.

Frosties snap losing streak - take two at the beach

July 8, 2010
In a hot and humid night at the beach with the American Idol All-Star tour playing in the background, the Frosties finally broke their 6-game losing streak against the Brewers by scores of 22-14 and 19-13.  Frosties were in control the entire night and took cae of business to improve their record to 11-9 on the season.

Big nights for many Frosties, highlighted by the return of Lou "the Natural" Ohle with a perfect 9 for 9 with a homer and 8 RBIs.  "Big" Pete Delia hit two blasts in game one, the CCD is beginning to heat up with one of his own, Coach Freddo hit a homer in a big spot, Danny Petrone made another excellect diving catch, and Chris "PBJ" Catania regaining his stroke.

Two records were set or tied in last night's doubleheader - first with Tom "the Chair" Frem's 18th home run on the season tying a Frosty all-time record, second - the CCD picking up two saves in the doubleheader with a Mariano-like line of 2.2 IP, one hit, and no runs.

As of now, it seems the Frosties are off next week and play again the 21st against the Destroyers in what might be a make-or-break game for the Frosties quest for the 2nd place title of the division.  Please continue to stay tuned.

Frosties stink again!

June 22, 2010
Coach Freddo to meet with senior officials today to discuss four game losing streak.  Rumor has it that Frosty brass may be looking internally to fill the coaching spot, with Woody the front-runner.  Stay tuned!

Frosties lose meaningless games

June 17, 2010
In a exhibition warm-up before Monday's big second place battle, the Frosties dropped two to JNK Securities/Pronto at Michel last night.  The bright side is the Frosties may have found their rallying point of the season with the emergence of the vuvuzela horn.  As the Frosty bats responded to the new motivational tool, a technical error unfortunately required the CCD to reset his phone and Woody popped up to end the game.

We play Monday at Jones Beach versus LI MIlitia.  See you there!

Frosties begin the season on a roll

April 22, 2010
Historically, the Frosties have never been a good opening week team.  Usually game one leads to a bunch of pop-outs and RBI baseball "bonks" in the field.  This year is different.  Coming off a big win in the ABA A/B One-Pitch Tournament, the Frosty bats continued to stay hot, with the exception of a few innings in game two, and took both games of the doubleheader versus a very good Shockers squad by scores of 27-22 and 20-19.

Game one saw big performances by Artie "Pants" Maisano, "Big" Pete Delia, Johnny Roch, and two jacks by James "Beans" Bienick.  Even the CCD got in the action with a solo blast at the massive confines of Baldwin Park.  Tom "the Chair" Frem hit two jacks as well.  Newcomer Danny "TBA" Petrone had a perfect game at the plate.

Game two saw a flat Frosty offense come back in the late innings to win 20-19.  Down 14-7 heading into the sixth, the Frosties put up eight runs capitalized by a grand slam by Coach Freddo.  After holding the Shockers down in the bottom of the inning, the Frosties put up another five led by a huge double by Johnny Roch and then a out-of-nowhere 3-RBI blast by James "the Rook" Uno Cinco, who the Frosties called up from their AA affiliate following a no-show by Joe the Plumber Musalo.  That home run was huge as the Shockers middle of their lineup quickly put up 5 runs in the bottom of the seventh to get within one.  The CCD then got two pop-ups to end the game.

The Frosties were very satisfied with their two hard-fought wins and look to Monday 9pm versus the Destroyers.  Tom "the Chair" Frem still has many microbrews left from the early boot Frosties received from the Baldwin parking lot last night and will have them available next game.

See you there!

Frosties wrap up Spring Training, look ahead to Summer Ball

April 12, 2010
Frosty softball has officially reached the starting gate.  After a laid-back two games at Cedar Creek yesterday where Frosties were putting balls onto the hill in right, the focus now turns to the regular season.  Big offseason acquistions in Big Pete Delia and to shore up our infield Danny Petrone will definitely strengthen the Frosty roster for 2010.

The first three weeks of the summer season are posted - next Wednesday, April 21st being the first game.  This of course follows the one-pitch tourney on Sunday.  Please continue to stay tuned as the CCD has writers block at the current time.

Over before it started

March 29, 2010
Frosty Dawgs/Balls/Troise took care of PBR/Easton/Elite at Allen Park yesterday by a score of 15-0.  Not fully satisfied by the performance, the Frosties decided to hold a 15-man scrimmage which proved to be far more enjoyable than any Spring Training game.  As you would have guessed it, the Evil Frosty squad tied the Good Frosty squad 10-10 after 7 innings of play.  The real story of the day was the emergence of the blue bat, which after 3 months of break-in is beginning to show signs of life as the 4-year old red bat heads into the sunset.  We are off for Easter next week but play the following week 9am at Cedar Creek.  Please continue to stay tuned.

Frosty Spring begins!

Two wins at Allen Park by the Frosties versus the Upper Deckers allowed the team to take its first hacks of the year.  Not much to report other than the spectacular defensive play in the bottom of the seventh by the CCD kicking the ball to first for the putout.  We play Sunday at Allen Park again at 9am versus a team with slashes in its name.  See you there!

Spring Season nears!

March 9, 2010
The snow has now melted and spring-like temperatures have arrived.  An unofficial practice on coach Freddo's front lawn successfully was held two days ago.  Must be the start of softball season - but wait - ABA cancelled this week's games because....nobody knows.  So we begin our Spring season Sunday the 21st.  The CCD, unable to secure a complete team roster for this upcoming season, will just show up next Sunday and hope for the best.

As for summer, the Frosties have registered for "C" and/or "B", depending on how many teams are in our division.  Management is demanding at least six teams and since the Frosties play to the level of their competition, it should really make no difference where we play.

Stay tuned.
