09-10 USA Swimming Academic All-American Award

Congratulations to Elise Dalley on her 2nd consecutive recognition to the USA Swimming Scholastic All-America team for her outstanding performance in and out of the water. 

By the Numbers: 1539 men and women made the SAA team for 2009-10.  This included 919 women and 620 men. There were 95 3-time women and 39 3-time men, and there was one perfect score this year – Elizabeth Beisel  from NE.  Elizabeth won a National Championship and made a 4.0.  In Michigan, 11 men and 19 women made the SAA team for 2009-10.

The Scholastic All-America program is open to all 10th-12th grade USA Swimming members who earn a 3.5 GPA or better and achieve a Junior National Bonus Time Standard or swim in a selected disability championship meet or the Open Water National Championships.  The program begins each July 1st and continues through June 30th of the following year.

2010 All-American Awards

The 2009-2010 swimming and diving All-American awards were recently announced with multiple Groves student athletes receiving recognition.   

Emma Brown received All-American recognition as a "Top 130" diver in the nation, 
2010 All-American Diving List ,  and swimmers Nicola Colliva, Nick Crosthwaite, Elise Dalley,  Tori Howe, Tyler Howe, Annie Lazor, Nick McGowan, Rob McGowan,  Ashley Mitson, Taylor Pfershy, Mary Seymour, Alex Smith were recognized for their performances.  See more details at Groves 2010 All-Americans

      08-09 USA Swimming Academic All-American Award

      Congratulations to Elise Dalley on her announcement to the USA Swimming 2008-09 Scholastic All-America team for her outstanding performance in and out of the water. 

      The 2008-09 team is composed of 905 women and 595 men.  Two-thirds of the team members achieved a 4.0 GPA. SAA members receive three certificates, a pin for those earning a 4.0 GPA and three-time recipients receive a travel alarm clock.  The program began in 1986 and has recognized 12,368 USA Swimming members since its inception.

      The Scholastic All-America program is open to all 10th-12th grade USA Swimming members who earn a 3.5 GPA or better and achieve a Junior National Bonus Time Standard or swim in a selected disability championship meet or the Open Water National Championships.  The program begins each July 1st and continues through June 30th of the following year.
