HEAT WIN DUNELAND FLYERS SLAMFEST!
Heat go 5-0 in tournament, beating the Northwest Indiana Shockers in the semi-final game and the Lincoln Way Prospects in the championship game to complete the tournament on top. The Heat's path was not going to be easy. They had to play their third pool play game on Sunday morning. Then Bracket play started at 12:30, and that game was delayed so long, that the tournament director cancelled those games an the top 4 teams played for the title. The Heat then faced the Shockers and won that game to face the 1 seed Prospects. It was a pitcher's duel with neither team giving up any runs until the Heat scored 1 in the fourth inning. The rain set in again and the tournament was over. So the Heat won a rain shortened game, but not by their choosing. So they were there from 7:00 in the morning until almost 6:00 in the evening, long day at best. Congrats to the Heat, you play the cards you are dealt. Thank you to the Duneland Flyers and the tournament committee.

HEAT WIN INDIANA NITRO SPRING CLASSIC
Heat get rained out on Saturday, play no pool play games and have to play 4 games on Sunday, because without playing a game the tournament director saw it fit for them to be the 10 seed out of 10 teams. Well they not only played 4 games, but they won 4 games. With some excellent pitching from David Ascencio, Jakob Gerson, JD(Justin Divelbiss), and Austin Hoffman, the Heat kept opposing scoring to a minimum. All while keeping opposing scoring to a minimum, the Heat scored 10,11,7, and 9 in the 4 games they played. There was timely hitting, advancing base runners, and a lot of bopping. When I say bopping, I mean bombs. There were home runs hit by David Ascencio, Kevin Davis, Conor Fitzgerald, Mike Maza and last but not least, Steven Meyer. Steven Meyer hit the grand slam against Zionsville to put the Heat ahead to stay in the semi-final game.

The 2012 Heat represented the area very well at the Little Majors Championships. Lost a close game to Texas Marshalls 4-3. Beat the Frozen Ropes 9-8. Beat MCBC Hit Dogs 12-2. Lost to Team Texas 10-6, who had only given up 5 runs in 3 previous games. Lost to Texas Hurricanes 6-5 in 8 innings, after 3 of our players had gone home. See all the results Here.

HEAT ARE BORDER WAR CHAMPIONS!!!
Drive for five is complete!!!
This tournament was a long grueling battle for the team
We came out fast and hard with a 12 - 4 victory over the Warriors. In the second game against the Bulldogs, we came out a little flat and didn't really bring it until the last inning and came up short by one run in an incredible comeback. It was the first comeback we came up short on.
Then came tournament play on Sunday. We started with The Future, and we never let them in the game. We hit hard, pitched awesome, and played great defense. In the Illinois Championship, we played a good Wasco team that took an early lead, but once again, the heart came out, and the Heat once again came from behind to win!
Then we enjoyed the hospitality given to us by Tom from Chipotle. He took care of all of the families, and gave the kids a pep talk, what a great guy!
Finally, Helfaer Field here we come! Border Wars Championship, boy was it a war! The Heat came out to an early lead. We were up 7 - 1 against an undefeated Bulldogs team. They had not lost a game all season. In a hostile environment, with coaches and parents yelling at the team, the Heat showed their ability to pull together as a team, ignore the external pressures, and come away with yet another championship 7 - 4, THE BORDER WARS CHAMPIONS!!!

HEAT win 2009 Lockport Lockdown, going 5-0!!!
Where do we start? Well how about an eight run bottom of the sixth to tie the game with a very good Hinsdale Red Dogs team, winning in the first extra inning!!!
Then in the game against a very good Lincolnway Blue Demons team, we saw some of the hardest hit balls we have seen all season.
Then we started bracket play with the Lockport Vipers, winning to advance to the semifinal game against the Lockport Cobras. In that game, we had a tough one only scoring 1 run in the first 4 innings. We scored 4 more in the fifth and went on to win 5 - 0. In the process, KD had a No-No(No Hits - No Runs), with some great defense behind him.
In the championship game against the number 1 seed, Nolan pitched the first 5 innings, only threw 29 pitches in the first 4 innings, WOW! The defense was awesome, the hitting was overwhelming. The Ducks had their outfielders standing on the warning track. This game was a complete team effort. We had timely hitting, good baserunning, and made plays. Did I mention great pitching and defense? How about again? What a display of hard work by these boys paying off!!!
CONGRATULATIONS HEAT!!!
