Brian Fraser Who Has 5 Straight 30+ Hit Seasons Will Also Be Joining Us. Perennial Speed Demon Rob Ryan Will Tear Up The Base Paths On 2 Nights This Year. And Possible Gold Glove First Baseman Brian Robbie Will Also Join The Team. So This Leaves Room For A Lot Of New Faces This Season.
Practice Has Been Scheduled For This Wednesday The 18th At 6pm In Mississauga. Hope To See A Bunch Of You Out There.
Kelly Goobers Open Up Season With Split Against Slippery Clams (W 21-10) & (L 30-5)

The Kelly Goobers Came Into Game 1 With A Lot Of Anticipation Of What Could Be A Great Season With A Great Bunch Of Guys. And Any Team That Can Lose 30-5 And Still Laugh About It And Drink Beers After; Thats A Team I Want To Play For!
And What Better Way To Start Off This Franchise Than A Swinging Strikeout Courtesy Of #9 Rob Ryan. Rob Would Pick Up For Himself Finishing Game 1 With A 2for3 Effort Including His First Career Home Run. Every Kelly Goober Would Record A Hit In This Game So Hitting Wasnt The Issue For This Club. 4 Different KG's Would Launch Home Runs In This Game Incuding 2 To Opposite Field, Sincerely Yours - Brian Robbie. Bobby Chapman Would Finish The Game Leading The Team With 5 Runs Batted In (RBI). Brian Robbie aka Bobo Picked Up 4, And JP Anderson Finished The Game 2for3 With 3RBI. Mike Vierno, Brian Fraser & Jon Boodhoo Would All Finish Game 1 With Perfection, Going 3for3, 3for3, 2for2 Respectively.
Game 2 Would Not Be The Cake Walk Game 1 Was Though. Going Down 11-1 After 2 Innings, The Koobers Knew They Were In Trouble. Going Into The 4th Inning The Score Was 13-2. And Then Mayhem Ensued. Along With A Lot Of Hits, The Goobers Allowed 17 Runs In The 4th Inning. Errors Ruled The Inning And The Kelly Goobers Surrendered One Of The Worst Run Totals In An Inning In Probably MMSPL History. But It Was Still All Smiles On The Kelly Goober Bench Which Was Great To See. JP Anderson Would Go Deep Again For His 2nd Home Run Of The Night Driving In A Team Leading 6 RBI On The Night. Jon Boodhoo Would Be The Only Player From The Game Before To Continue His Perfect Season. 7 Koobers Would Actually Go Hitless In This Game. Bobby Chapman & Adam Sawoszcuk Would Be The Only Ones To Bat 1.000 In This Game. The Final Score Read 30-5 But You Couldnt Tell By The Way Everyone Was Just Happy To Actually Be There.
This Season Should Have Its Fair Share Of Up And Downs. But As Long As Everyone Is Having Fun And There Are Cold Beers After The Game This Should Be A Great Season. The Kelly Goobers Go Again Next Thursday @ 6:30pm At The Brickyard Again vs The Mooseknuckles.

Kelly Goobers Mid Season Player Report
Here Is A Player Status Report Of How Things Are Going So Far This Season. We Are Currently 15 Games In To A 30 Game Season So I Thought I Would Do A Breakdown Of How Each Of You Has Played So Far And My Prediction Of How The Rest Of The Season Will Pan Out.
#3 - Brian Fraser (10GP, 0.613avg, 19H, 16R, 8RBI)
Brian Fraser brings to the table the ability to get on base, and also the ability to drive runs in. He hasnt been able to make it out to as many games as he would want, but he is making the most of every game he shows up. Fraser also has a very slick glove in the infield and can play almost every position on the dirt. Look for Fraser to finish the season playing with the same consistency thats made him a great hitter on 2 nights this year.
Fantasy Forecast: (12GP, 0.650avg, 23H, 20R, 10RBI)
#7 - Ryan Gordon (14GP, 0.390avg, 16H, 10R, 13RBI)
Ryan Gordon started the season off on the wrong foot, having only 3 hits after his teams first 6 games, Gordon just wasnt seeing the ball right. He only had 2 multi-hit games 10 games in. But recently has been seeing the ball better, and making better contact (3 multi-hit games in his last 5) Gordon looks to make the second half of his season one to talk about.
Fantasy Forecast: (16GP, 0.480avg, 24H, 12R, 14RBI
#9 - Rob Ryan (14GP, 0.564avg, 22H, 14R, 8RBI)
Rob Ryan has actually made it out to more game than i thought he would this season. And he is hitting with a lot more confidence on this team. His swing seems to get better every thursday, (he is still trying to transition this to wednesday) more recently he has been working on an inside-out swing, hitting slicing linedrives over the pitcher/2nd baseman which has worked quite well. Rob has never had the power but has the speed to beat out any groundball. Lets see if Rob can keep up his great pace he has been on this season.
Fantasy Forecast: (12GP, 0.510avg, 18H, 14R, 10RBI)
#11 - Ryan Swire (15GP, 0.500avg, 22H, 10R, 14RBI)
Ryan Swire has been on fire lately, only recording 2 outs in his last 4 games, Swire has put to bed any rumours that said he wasnt that great a hitter. This big man can hit the ball when he gets his pitch but usually gets to anxious and swings at a bad pitch. But lately ive noticed him hitting his pitch and it seems to be working out. Also he has picked up most of his stats in these last 4 games, just look at this line: (0.833avg, 10H, 7R, 8RBI) and then look at his season stats, this guy has been on fire!
Fantasy Forecast: (14GP, 0.550avg, 29H, 15R, 18RBI)
#13 - Tyler Morrison (13GP, 0.421avg, 16H, 9R, 6RBI)
Tyler Morrison started the season a little slow just like Gordon. But recently has been hitting the ball more square and is actually putting a hurt on the ball. Tyler has 10 Hits in his last 5 games showing that his swing has come along way since the start of the season (First 8 games = 6 hits) Lets see if Ty can keep up with his latest hot streak and really add a surge to the bottom of the order.
Fantasy Forecast: (14GP, 0.440avg, 19H, 10R, 10RBI)
#19 - Adam Sawoszcuk (13GP, 0.750avg, 30H, 18R, 18RBI)
Adam Sawoszcuk has been on a tear since starting the season. Prodominently a singles hitter (2 extra base hits in his first 8 games) Adam has started to show his power recently with 5 extra base hits in his last 5 games. Surprisingly for the amount of hits he has he is tied for 3rd in runs and 4th in RBI. Seems everytime he comes up the bases have just been cleared. Regardless this man has been smashing the ball and should continue this for the remainder of the season.
Fantasy Forecast: (12GP, 0.700avg, 28H, 26R, 28RBI)
#22 - Brian Robbie (10GP, 0.500avg, 16H, 12R, 8RBI)
Brian Robbie was supposed to be a temporary player, but with the absence of injured starter Matt Spina, Bobo has been asked to play more. And he doesnt seem to mind the extra at bats. Bobo has been batting around the top of the order all season and has been doing quite well until recently. After putting up 7 hits in back to back games, Bobo has only 1 hit in his last 10 at bats. He also has slowed his RBI numbers, after picking up 4RBI in his 1st game of the season, he only has 4 more RBI in his last 9 games. Brian will be moved down in the order when Franny returns to add a little more punch to the middle of the lineup, in no way is this a reflection of his play, the coach just feels he is best used in a transition spot in the order, rather than a leadoff or power hitter.
Fantasy Forecast: (12GP, 0.560avg, 20H, 14R, 15RBI)
#26 - Bobby Chapman (15GP, 0.796avg, 39H, 27R, 46RBI)
Bobby Chapman has more RBI than anyone could even imagine, even himself! But its just a lot of luck that every time he has come up there are atleast a couple runners on. I cant see his RBI totals continue at this pace, but his hitting should keep par. Bobby is going to be moving into the 4 slot from his traditional 3 hole to see if he can keep the RBI totals going.
Fantasy Forecast: (14GP, 0.800avg, 35H, 25R, 38RBI)
#27 - Franny Pisani (6GP, 0.437avg, 7H, 7R, 3RBI)
Franny Pisani recently got married, and that was all he needed to do to lock up the leadoff spot for when he returns this week. (Well that and his 0.750 OBP% ranks 3rd on the team) Franny has been a pretty consistent linedrive hitter, mostly picking on the 3rd baseman. Franny has made a couple celebrity appearances on the Goobers Wednesday team and fared quite well, so its no suprise that he keeps it rolling this year with the Kelly Goobers. Lets hope his defense catches up with his offense and we could have ourselves a complete player.
Fantasy Forecast: (12GP, 0.520avg, 22H, 20R, 7RBI)
#29 - Mike Vierno (15GP, 0.467avg, 21H, 18R, 19RBI)
Mike Vierno has had the fortune of being the coach's little project. He has bounced from top of the order to middle of the order, to bottom of the order. But its not based on his playing ability why he is batting near the bottom. The coach just knows that Vierno can hit regardless of where he is batting, and he knows that Mike can start up a rally or keep one going whether it be starting off an inning at leadoff, or driving in a couple runs with guys on. He has only once this season not reached base via a hit and he hadnt even recorded an RBI until his 5th game. Look for Vierno to be a key part in the teams batting lineup going forward.
Fantasy Forecast: (14GP, 0.510avg, 26H, 20R, 20RBI)
#39 - Andrew Bradvica (13GP, 0.553avg, 21H, 12R, 14RBI)
Andrew Bradvica or Bobandy as he likes to be called :P has been turning a lot of heads this year with his play. Andy currently is ranked 6th on the team in Batting Average, Tied for 5th in RBI, and 5th in On Base Percentage (OBP%). I can say no one saw this from Andy at the beggining of the season. Lately he has played his best ball, raking in 8R, 11RBI in his last 6 games. Also picking up his first 2 extra base hits of the season during this run. Andy also showed some patience with 3 walks in his last 2 games. Lets see if Andy can keep up this great first season.
Fantasy Forecast: (12GP, 0.540avg, 18H, 10R, 12RBI)
#42 - JP Anderson (15GP, 0.562avg, 27H, 21R, 20RBI)
JP Anderson had the perfect swing for softball before he even played a single game of softball. His looping swing and powerful bat have worked out pretty good for the center fielder this year. JP sits 2nd in Runs Scored, RBI and Homeruns. JP has recently been moved into the 3 spot in the order to see if he can boost up his average closing to that 0.600 mark. His defense has been stellar as well, but you already knew that.
Fantasy Forecast: (14GP, 0.600avg, 30H, 28R, 21RBI)
#84 - Jon Boodhoo (12GP, 0.444avg, 16H, 13R, 11RBI)
Jon Boodhoo aka the Brown Bomber! is the only other Kelly Goober other than Chapman to take one over the fence. Well apparently that got to his head a bit because the following week he put up a stinker 1for8 performance. But after talking with Jon he is realizing its not all about the longball (well chicks sure do dig it) but linedrives is the lifeblood of a good hitter. Jon also has a very looping swing much like JP but must learn to drive the ball rather than lift it. Im sure Jon will have a few rough games during the season, but ive seen him mash the ball before and opposing defenses should be warned. Lets see how this roller coaster season ends for the bomber.
Fantasy Forecast: (12GP, 0.500avg, 20H, 15R, 16RBI)
The Kelly Goobers Next Game Is This Thursday @ 6:15pm vs El Diablos (Maxward 1) Lets see if they can take both games this time and start the 2nd half of the season with a bang. Also dont forget about the rainout game this sunday @ 6:30pm (Brickyard).

Kelly Goobers Kick Off 2013 Season With Split Of Red Rubble
Game 1: Kelly Goobers Def. Red Rubble (19-3)
Game 2: Red Rubble Def. Kelly Goobers (8-6)
The Kelly Goobers Took A Monumental Leap Forward This Season. After Losing Out In The Finals 3 Games to 1 Against The Slippery Clams In The E2 Division. The KG's Were Looking To Move To Another Night And Tuesday's Is Where They Hoped To End Up. They Got There Wish, But Not In The Division They Hoped. The KG's Bumped Up 3 Divisions Into D1, And Had To Go Up Against A Tough Team In The Red Rubble (The President Of The MMSPL Runs This Team), So You Knew This Wasnt Going To Be A Cake Walk.
Starting Out The Game The Kelly Goobers Got On A Roll, Posting 7 Runs In The Top Of The 1st Inning. Brian Robbie Took To The Hill In This Game, Hoping To Get Some More Innings A Pitcher This Season Bobo Struggled. He Walked The First 4 Batters Throwing A Total Of 1 Strike Through The 4. Bobby Chapman Had To Take Over In Relief And Would Go On To Pitch Both Games.
Brian Fraser Took Over At Shortstop And Made Some Great Plays, Including A First Inning Rocket That Fraser Was Able To Reach And Snag. The Normal Outfield Alignment Took The Field Gordon-JP-Adam-Ty Rounded Out The Outfield. With The Loss Of Ryan Swire and Rob Ryan for This Game, Jon Boodhoo And Andrew Bradvica Saw More Time In The Infield, Andy Had A Couple Tough Plays Early, But Seemed To Settle Down Come Game 2.
Game 1 Would Finish As A Blowout Victory For The KG's Routing The Red Rubble 19-3, Capped Off With Brian Robbies 5 RBI Game and A Couple Home Runs From Jon Boodhoo and JP Anderson.
Game 2 Didnt Go The Same Way As Game 1, The Hitting Wasnt The Same, The Defense Was Getting Good Bounces. This One Actually Ended Up In An 8-6 Loss For The KG's But Not Without Some Highlights.
Highlight #1 - A Linedrive Is Sent Out Into Left Field, Ryan Gordon Is Charging Hard Trying To Make The Grab. A Patch Of Mud Comes Out Of No Where, Gordon Slips - Lowers His Head, and GOOOOOAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLLL!!!! Oh Wait Wrong Sport. The Ball Would Ricoche Off Gordon's Head A Fly A Good 20 Feet, One Hopping Into The Fence. The Greatest Thing About This Was The Fact Gordon Got Straight Up, Hussled To The Ball And Got In Back In to Save A Run, Now Thats Dedication. But Dont Worry - Hes Alright Folks.
Highlight #2 - Runner On First - A Groundball Gets Through The Right Side, Ty Morrison Is Charging. The Runner Is Trying To Go 1st to 3rd. Ty Comes Up Throwing - The Throw Seems To Be Slicing Away From The Bag (Or So Brian Fraser Would Have Me Think), After Fraser Calls For It To Be Cut, Bobby Chapman Tries To Cut It Down But It Bounces Under His Glove, And Thank Goodness, The Throw Was A Perfect 1 Hop Strike To 3rd Base Gunning The Runner Down By A Few Steps.
Hope You Enjoyed The Write Up Boys - Next Weeks Game Is 8:45pm Brickyard 1 vs Miller Twins.

Kelly Goobers Open 2014 Season With A Big Comeback Victory, Split 1-1 vs Red Rubble
Kelly Goobers Pull Off Amazing Comeback To Beat Red Rubble 24-22.
With the score tied at 20 in the fifth inning, Adam Sawoszczuk came to the plate and singled, bringing home Brian Fraser.
Kelly Goobers was led by Adam's hitting. Adam went 3-4, drove in two and scored three runs.
Each team blasted the other's pitching, and there were 46 total runs and 51 hits during the game.
Kelly Goobers staved off Red Rubble as Red Rubble was unable to match Kelly Goobers down the stretch.
Red Rubble scored two runs in the fifth on an RBI double and an RBI single but Red Rubble still couldn't draw even.
Kelly Goobers hammered Red Rubble pitching as nine hitters had a field day, combining for 24 hits, 20 RBIs and 20 runs scored.
