Kinsmen History in Bowmanville

Kin Canada was formed in Hamilton Ontario in 1920.
Hal Rogers founded the organization after being refused entry into the Rotary club.
Having returned from the war he realized a need for returning service men to keep in touch and maintain fellowship. The first club realized that they needed purpose and more to keep the interest and started service work in their community. The rest is history so they say.

The Bowmanville Kinsmen were chartered in 1950 by the Kinsmen Club of Oshawa. At one time their membership was well over 40 but today boast a modest 17 quality members that meet twice a month for dinner and business and the odd weekend to raise funds from the community, for the community.

Kinsmen do not have any parliment affiliations but are masters at training their members in Parlimentary procedure, accounting, and public speaking. We have no secret handshake or high signs.Any and all religions are welcome and respected.

Bowmanville Kinsmen have been running the Squirt Hockey program for more than 36 years . We run a few annual projects to raise funds as well as a few new ones each year.We are very family oriented and hold many family socials. There is no great expectation of using up anyones private time or family time , just a few hours a month.
