WHIZ KIDS: 2019 PLAYOFFS CHAMPIONS

The Whiz Kids won the playoffs championship game over the Elizabethtown team 9 - 7. The game was well played on both sides. The combined pitching of Jeff Vanduesen and Mark Lahn secured the victory.  Leroy Wentling pitched well for Elizabethtown, challenging the Whiz Kids batters with his "high twister."

Double plays and great catches in the outfield were featured throughout the contest. The Whiz Kids offense was led by Glen Eberle's 5 for 5 performance, followed by multihit performances by Brad Wile, Tom Brinkman, Larry Cirraco and Tom Figart. E-town's Frank Stellar had a base clearing double to put his team ahead early in the game.

Summary: In the first 3 innings the Whiz Kids were up 3 - 0. E-town came back to tie the score 3 - 3 and later went ahead 6 - 3. The Whiz Kids then tied it up 6 - 6 and later went ahead 9 - 7 in the bottom of the 6th inning to end all scoring. E-town batters went 3 up and 3 down in the 7th inning to end the game.

This game captured the interest of around 25 fans in the stands.
