-     Named 2022 Shore Conference B Central Head Coach of the year

-         Named Assistant Coach of the year for 2014 by The Shore Conference Baseball Coaches Association

-         Private Instructor for hitting, pitching, and catching for past 19 years.

-         Grew up in Old Bridge and played in Old Bridge Little League.

-         Attended Cedar Ridge High School from 80’-84’.

-         Played Varsity for 3 years, was captain for 2 years, All-Conference & All-County in 83’ and 84’, first Cedar Ridge HS player to play in All-State All-Star game in Princeton, named to 3^rd team All-State Senior year.

-         Recognized in Middlesex County American Legion Summer Baseball league as an All-Star for 2 years. 

-         Played 4 years for North Carolina Wesleyan College under Collegiate HOF Coach Mike Fox (retired head coach for University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill) where the team compiled a record of 158-35, named captain Junior and Senior year, named MVP of 87’ World Series 3^rd place team – named Male Scholar Athlete senior year.

-         Coached fall semester under Mike Fox in 1989, spring NC Wesleyan won the Div 3 World Series.

-         Coach Little League 19 years in Middletown. Coach All-Star teams in every age group.

-         Coached Middletown Travel teams for  14yrs. have traveled to Cooperstown and Aberdeen, Md. with the teams to participate in weekly and weekend tournaments.

-         On Board of Directors of Middletown Little League for 19 years.

-         Organize and run summer baseball camps with approx 180-250 kids per summer (3 weeks of camps).

-         Organized and ran Memorial Weekend baseball tourney in Middletown, with 45-50 teams. 

-Married to Dianne for 35 years and have 3 sons 33, 29, and 23.

BASEBALL

The Shore Baseball Coaches Association had its annual preseason sportsmanship banquet this week, where it honored all the division, county, Shore Conference and state champions from the 2014 season as well as the respective coaches of the year. St. John Vianney’s Mike Morgan, who was the SSN Coach of the Year, was honored as the Monmouth County Coach of the Year after leading the Lancers to their first NJSIAA Non-Public A title since 1981 and the final No. 1 ranking in the state. Jackson Memorial’s Frank Malta, who led the Jaguars to the Group IV title for their first Group title since 1972, was awarded the Ocean County Coach of the Year by the SBCA. A pair of assistants, Mater Dei Prep’s Mike Eckert and Central’s Dennis Kopin, were the recipients of the Monmouth and Ocean County Assistant Coach of the Year award, respectively.
