2018 Season - Weekly Radnor Baseball News - Week of May 6

May 6, 2018

Events with Immediate Attention Required:

MONDAY - Pipeline Taco Fundraiser:

The Radnor Baseball Pipeline Taco fundraiser is tomorrow, May 7th.  Please consider picking up dinner for the family at Pipeline Taco tomorrow and mention that you are there for the Radnor Baseball fundraiser.   A percentage of the sales from those associated with the Radnor Baseball fundraiser will be contributed by Pipeline Taco to the Radnor Baseball Booster Club.  It's a win-win: dinner taken care of and additional support for the Radnor Baseball program!

Senior Recognition Day and BBQ:

Senior Recognition Day is only a week away on Monday, May 14th.  The Senior Recognition committee is seeking additional non-senior parent volunteers to help set up the food on the 14th in the late afternoon while the Varsity and JV games are being played.  The set up is right along the Creek parking lot, so we especially need non-senior Varsity parents and Freshmen parents (since the Freshmen team does not have a game on the 14th) who can help out with the food set-up.  This is a great way for someone who has not yet volunteered to help out the baseball program with a very limited time commitment on the 14th.

Please contact Jill Demmy at jillpd618@gmail.com to volunteer your help for this very meaningful event.

RWLL Clinic A Big Success!

Thirty-four Radnor Wayne little leaguers attended the annual baseball clinic conducted by Coach Joe Kerrigan and the Radnor Varsity team members!  The little leaguers worked on their baseball skills while having a fun time working with the Varsity players, most of whom are former RWLL players and many of whom attended one or more clinics given by past Radnor Varsity baseball teams.

A special thanks to Dan DiLella who organized the clinic registration and administration and to Emily Remphrey from RWLL who coordinated player registration with Dan!  A thanks also to Coach Kerrigan and the Varsity players for conducting the clinic and working with all the little leaguers!

Annual Golf Outing

The annual Radnor Baseball golf outing was held earlier today at Paxon Hollow Golf Club.  We hope everyone who participated had a great time!  We'll send out a recap of the golf outing in next week's Radnor Baseball weekly email.

If you want updates faster, click HERE  and provide your email address to get notification of any RHS Baseball schedule changes from DigitalSports.com.  This site is updated directly by the Athletic Director's office.  DigitalSports is the first place to be updated.  Our website only gets updated after I receive the email from DigitalSports, so if you want to be the first to know, you can subscribe directly to DigitalSports.  Note that you may find you get a slew of emails for games that are in various states of being rescheduled, so only register for the DigitalSports email notifications if you don't mind a little noise with the notification emails.

Broadcasting Our Games

Radnor Varsity games will be broadcast via the GameChanger App.   GameChanger allows one to enter everything that is happening in a game, pitch by pitch, and stream that out through the Internet.  This allows parents who are stuck at work during the games and out of town relatives and fans to follow along during a game so they don't miss out on the game action.

GameChanger’s viewing model is a bit different than iScore’s.  There is no viewing app – you must view the play by play via the www.gc.com web site on any device.  You can see scores and other basic information for free.  To see live play by play, GameChanger charges a $2.99/month fee.  When you go the www.gc.com website, you should search for “Radnor Raiders Varsity”.  You can then click on the link as a family member to the team.

The start of games, half-inning score summaries, and the final score will be tweeted out through GameChanger to our @radnorbaseball Twitter account which you can also view on the right hand side of the RadnorBaseball.com website.

Varsity Game Pictures

Steve Scheri has been kind enough to take some great action shots of our players at several of the Varsity games over the past couple of weeks.  He will continue to add more pictures as he is able to throughout the season.

You can view and download any of the pictures at: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1zEtR1PLM-0TLxltS3E1iDwhYkVXSUSAh?usp=sharing.  The pictures are organized by game.

The annual golf outing has been rescheduled to May 6.  The event will be held at Paxon Hollow Golf Club, with tee times starting at 12:30PM.   There is still time to join in on the fun as we still have room for additional golfers and foursomes.  Additional sponsorship opportunities are still available.

Monday, May 7 - Fundraiser at Pipeline Taco

We are excited to announce that Pipeline Taco has once again agreed to host a fundraiser night for Radnor Baseball at Pipeline Taco.  More info will be provided shortly, but Pipeline Taco will be donating a portion of the sales collected 4 PM or later by all those who let them know that they are there for the Radnor Baseball fundraiser.   Head on over after the Varsity or JV home games or after Freshman team practice to pick up dinner for the whole family, and support Radnor Baseball at the same time!

We will be recognizing the contributions of all of our Senior players and their parents after the conclusion of the Varsity game against Strath Haven.  Immediately following the ceremony is a BBQ adjacent to Creek parking for the entire Radnor Baseball program and their families.
