Travel Team Code of Conduct

Practice:

Players must be attentive at practice.

Practice will start at the time indicated on the schedule. Therefore, you should plan on arriving at least 15 minutes prior to the start of practice.

If a player yells or talks back to a coach during practice the player will be sent home. The player will NOT be allowed to practice until the player, parent and coach have a conference.

Missed Practice:

If you need to miss practice notify your coach ASAP. Failure to notify your coach is considered an unexcused absence.

Unexcused absences result when you fail to notify your coach in advance.

Unexcused absences could result in a reduction of playing time.

Player Conduct:

Teasing, bullying, or picking on teammates is not allowed.

Poor sportsmanship will NOT be tolerated.

St. Francis Girls Travel Basketball players do NOT participate in excessive celebration.

Talking back to coaches or referees will NOT be tolerated

If a player yells or talks back to a coach during a game they will be benched for the remainder of the game.

Fighting or being rude to the opposing team will NOT be tolerated. We want to set a positive example at all times.

Playing Time:

If your child will be absent from a game please try and give the coach 24 hours notice if possible.  failing to notify the coach of the player's absence may place your team in a position where they have to forfeit the game which is unfair to the team.

Players are expected to arrive 30 minutes prior to the game time for warm ups. Any player that arrives after the game begins may be subject to sitting out the entire game unless the coach is notified in advance.

Everyone will play in every game, but THERE ARE NO GUARANTEES ON THE AMOUNT OF PLAYING TIME.

Conflict Resolution:

There will be NO discussion of a player's playing time, position, or conduct during or immediately following a game. Unless safety is a concern, please wait 24 hours to give everyone's emotions a chance to settle.

If you have concerns about your child please contact her coach to discuss the issue.
