Aberdeen Matawan Girls Softball League is devoted to fair play and sportsmanship. Our number one priority is that players who choose to play in our league enjoy their experience and create lasting, positive memories. We expect that all participants in our league including Coaches, Players, Parents and Officials have the same mindset and contribute to building the exceptional experience for all those involved in the game.

GAMES

 

When are the games? 

The pre-season starts in early April or even earlier weather permitting.  Games start April 16th.  Team Picture day is April 24th. Our season ending picnic is mid June. 

Tball games are weekly every Saturday morning. 

Clinic and Minors Division games are Saturdays to start and then a weekday and Saturdays about three weeks into the season. 

Majors Division games are weeknights. Practices times and dates and make up games are at the discretion of the coaches and field availability  

 

What equipment is needed? 

Tball – girls need their own helmet, glove and cleats (soccer cleats are fine); bat is optional.

Clinic/Minors/Majors – Girls need their own batting helmet w/ face mask, glove, and cleats.  All girls playing the infiled MUST wear a fielders mask.; bat is optional    

 

WORK BONDS

HOW CAN I FULFILL MY WORK BOND OBLIGATION?

REGISTERED FAMILIES MAY FULFILL AMS WORK BONDS BY VOLUNTEERING A MINIMUM ONE WORK BOND SPONSOR EVENT. ELIGIBLE VOLUNTEER TASKS INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:

• HELPING WITH IN-PERSON REGISTRATION
• DISTRUBUTE REGISTRATION FLYERS IN THE SCHOOLS 
• TEAM MANAGER OR COACH MUST MAKE 75% OF PRACTICES AND GAMES
• EQUIPMENT MAINTENANCE (Inspect and inventory league equipment & build team bags)
• FIELD CLEAN UP PRE-SEASON OR IN SEASON
• END OF SEASON PICNIC COMMITTEE/SUPPORT
• MANAGE SNACK STAND
• SNACK STAND PRE-SEASON CLEAN UP
• SNACK STAND SALES (OAKSHADES FIELD)
• OTHER WORK POSTED BY THE BOARD REQUIRING HELP.
• SPONSOR THE LEAGUE
• BECOME A BOARD OR AUXILIARY MEMBER

HOW DO I SIGN UP FOR A WORK BOND EVENT?

WORK BOND EVENTS WILL BE POSTED IN THE WORK BOND SIGN UP SECTION OF THE LEAGUE WEBSITE. YOU WILL NEED TO SIGN UP FOR AN EVENT THAT IS POSTED. WE WILL BE USING VOLUNTEERSPOT.COM TO TRACK SIGN UP AND SEND REMINDERS OF UP COMING WORK. PLEASE CHECK BACK REGULARLY TO AS NEW EVENTS WILL BE POSTED. THERE ARE A LIMITED NUMBER OF SPOTS PER EVENT.

HOW DO I GET MY WORK BOND REIMBURSEMENT?

ALL REGISTERED LEAGUE MEMBERS MUST COMPLETE A WORK BOND REIMBURSEMENT FORM ONLINE DURING THE CURRENT AMS SEASON. A COMPLETED WORK BOND REIMBURSEMENT FORM MUST BE SUBMITTED ONLINE NO LATER THEN 60 DAYS AFTER THE PRESENT SEASON TO RECEIVE A TIMELY REIMBURSEMENT.

HOW IS THE WORK BOND REIMBURSED?

ALL ELIGIBLE WORK BONDS WILL BE REIMBURSED IN THE FOLLOWING WAYS.

• IF YOU REGISTERED ONLINE THE LEAGUE WILL SEND YOU A CHECK FOR $50.00 ONCE THE WORK IS COMPLETED AND THE WORK BOND REIMBURSEMENT FORM IS SUBMITTED. CHECKS WILL BE MAILED OUT ONCE A MONTH. 
• IF YOU REGISTERED IN PERSON OR MAILED IN CHECKS AMS WILL VOID OUT AND DESTROY YOUR WORK BOND CHECK ONCE THE WORK IS COMPLETED AND THE WORK BOND REIMBURSEMENT FORM IS SUBMITTED. 

WHAT IS WORK BOND FORFEITURE?

ALL WORK BOND RELATED INQUIRIES MUST BE FINALIZED WITHIN 60 DAYS OF THE

CURRENT SEASON END. ANY OPEN WORK BOND INQUIRES WILL BE AUTOMATICALLY

FORFEITED 60 DAYS AFTER THE CURRENT SEASON ENDS. SUBMITTING A TIMELY WORK

BOND REIMBURSEMENT FORM WILL PREVENT WORK BOND FORFEITURE.

HOW DO I KNOW MY WORK BOND IS FULFILLED?

ELIGIBLE AMS MEMBERS WILL RECEIVE A CONFIRMATION EMAIL FROM THE WORK BOND BOARD MEMBER CONFIRMING WORK BOND FULFILLMENT. IT IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT THAT THE LEAGUE HAS YOUR CURRENT AND CORRECT CONTACT INFORMATION TO ENSURE TIMELY NOTIFICATION AND TIMELY REIMBURSEMENT.

Update 9/13/2016

Moving forward the refund policy will be handled as stated below. 

• All credit card registrations refunds will be minus the percentage the website and credit card fee we incurred. 
• All pay by check or cash will carry a five dollar cancel/refund charge. This holds true even if we never receive your check we will still be looking to cover the cost the website charges us for check transactions. 
• The league will refund you minus costs above up to one month prior to the start of the season. 
• If less then a month prior to the season you will receive a 50% refund. 
• Once uniforms are handed out to the coaches we will not accept any refund requests.

Recently we have encountered many requests for refunds and the cost of keeping the league run does not allow us to continue to loss money on refunds. 

Coaching Background Checks!

To ensure a safe environment for our players we are requesting and required by Babe Ruth to have all coaches and board members pass a background check every three years.  The league feels your agreement to volunteer your time should not cost you to get this done. So we are picking up that cost. 

If you are new to the league or feel you may not have completed a check in the past 3 years we are asking you to submit your information to Protect Youth Sports see link below.   If you think you did this in past few years for your league we are providing a list of people that have records on follow the link below. If you are on that list you are good if not you will need to submit your information.

This information will not be shared and will be controlled by the President and Vice President of the league.  Unfortunately if you took one for another sport or league we need it run through us as well again.

 If these classes aren’t convenient, save the link and refer back periodically.  The classes are usually offered before specific sport seasons.  In this case it looks like soccer and football programs.  Remember, the Rutgers class is good for all sports.
