TRAINING FOR COACHES

All HYL COACHES (Head and Assistants) must take the TBYFL online training as well as the background check at the following link. http://tbyfl.com/index.php/league-resources/coach-volunteer-registration

 PURPOSE
It is the intent of this policy to establish certain guidelines wherein its affiliated organizations can seek to protect the children of TBYFL by administering due diligence by:

• Investigating the background history of all volunteers over age 18
• Ensuring compliance with Hillsborough County coaches certification requirements
• Maintain current demographic and contact information on volunteers of TBYFL

GENERAL GUIDELINES
All Organizations shall ensure that participants 18 years of age or older:

• Completes a TBYFL Volunteer Application
• Submits a background request (Law Enforcement and Jr. Coaches are exempt)
• Provides proof of meeting TBYFL/Hillsborough County certification requirement
• Provides picture identification with date of birth
• Provide proof of CPR Certification
• Provide proof of completing Concussion training video

Jr. Coaches must complete a TBYFL Volunteer Application and provide picture ID with date of birth

All TBYFL Volunteers must wear a valid ID badge at all TBYFL sanctioned events.

 REQUIREMENTS BASED ON VOLUNTEER STATUS

1.) TBYFL VOLUNTEER APPLICATION: TBYFL Volunteer Registration Form http://tbyfl.com/resources2/2015TBYFLVolRegForm.pdf 

Complete in full, sign and attach the following and give to your Organizations Registrar or AD (NOT directly to TBYFL)

2.) Attend Hillsborough County Coaches Class

• County Course 1 year certification - all sports - no charge - Ask Commissioner Hankins
• Coaches Certification: NAYS online - 1 year certification - sport specific - cost $25 - http://www.nays.org/ 

Submit Copy of Certification/Coaches Card with Volunteer Application

3.) Complete the free online class Concussions in Sports | What you Need to Know.

To complete the class  you must register with the site before you can take the class. Registration is free and the course is free.

4.) Identification: (If New Volunteer)

• Drivers License
• Student ID
• Law Enforcement ID

5.) Background check: (except Law Enforcement & Jr. Coaches)

Remember

1. No player can be on the practice field without turning in his birth certificate.

2. No equipment will be issued to players until full payment has been made.
