Official Rules
Printable Version

  1. The box dimensions are 2’ x 2’ and the ringer is 6.5’’ in diameter (Jim Linders-style)
  2. The boxes are set 26 feet apart and the washers themselves are 4’’ in diameter
  3. Teams receive one (1) point for a washer in the box and three (3) points for a ringer
  4. Play until a team reaches at least 21 points
  5. We will be using the cancel rule throughout all tournament games (see below). There is no cancel rule for the first round games.
  6. There is a 15 minute time limit for each game. After 15 minutes has elapsed, the current side finishes their round of throws. The other side then throws their round and the game is complete.
  7. Must win by 2 points before the 15 minutes time limit.
  8. If the game is still tied after the 15 minute time limit, a team only needs to win by 1 point.

Explanation of the “cancel” rule
- The only way to cancel a ringer is to get a ringer
- If a player gets a ringer, the other team can cancel washers in the box, but cannot earn points unless they also get a ringer
- Example 1:  1st player gets 1 ringer and 2 in the box, and the 2nd player gets 2 in the box.
- The 1st player gets a total of 3 points for the round
- Example 2: 1st player gets 1 ringer and 1 in the box, and the 2nd player gets 4 in the box.
-  1st player gets a total of 3 points for the round
- Example 3: 1st player gets 1 ringer and 1 in the box, the 2nd player gets 1 ringer and 2 in the box
- 2nd player gets a total of 1 point for the round
- It’s not as complicated as it sounds. Official scorekeepers will be watching each game.
