Subscribe to our Newsletter- April 9th, 1982 - Tom Kraus organizes a baseball team to compete in the 12-team Dairyland League. Marshfield News-Herald would refer to them as the Marshfield Area Baseball Team or Marshfield Area Baseball Club. This team would become known as the Chaparrals the following year.
- April 22nd, 1982 - Team’s first meeting held at 7:30 pm Thursday at Schalow’s Nursery.
- June 5th, 1982 - Marshfield Area Baseball Team plays 3 games on Saturday immediately after a parade that kicked off the Cheesefest celebration in Marshfield. Brian Morgan was the starting pitcher in a 10-6 victory over Stevens Point. Marshfield would lose the next game against Point 3-12 and then lose a league game to Harrison 4-1.
- 1983 - The Marshfield Chaparrals Baseball Association Inc. officially becomes a non-profit organization.
- June 1st, 1983 - Marshfield Chaparrals gain first ever victory beating Nekoosa 9-3 in a non-league road game. Mike Klein and Tom Kraus with home runs for the Chaps.
- August 13th, 1983 - Marshfield Chaparrals’ first playoff game in Abbotsford against Greenwood, eight team’s were present for the WBA semi-finals. Nothing has been found about this tournament but it appears the Chaps season came to end there.
- June 2nd & 3rd, 1984 - The Marshfield Chaparrals joined the Wisconsin State League and made their debut on this weekend, losing 2 games on Saturday and 2 on Sunday to the Green Bay Blue Ribbons. This league consisted of Delevan, Green Bay, Janesville, Rockford IL, Sheboygan, Menasha, Madison, Oshkosh, and Marshfield.
- April 17th, 1985 - Audie Mook, former assistant coach at Southern Illinois University, is announced as the Chaparrals new manager. The Chaparrals starting pitching this year was filled with 3 Wisconsin Badgers: Todd Borchardt, Tim Roman, and Brian Doudna. Wisconsin Badgers catcher Mark Manns also joined the Chaps this summer.
- July 3rd, 1985 - Chaparrals catcher Mark Manns and pitcher-infielder Tim Roman play in the Wisconsin State League All-Star game held in Sheboygan.
