Guidelines:

 

 A meeting will take place in August/September of each year at a mutually agreeable venue for all schools to be involved in the MJCSSL for the upcoming year to review the schedule and agree to the guidelines set forth below. An athletic director (AD) or a proxy with power to make decisions for the school must be in attendance of participation in the upcoming year.

 

 

 

 

The athletic director (AD) of each school will submit to the Administration of MJCSSL, in writing, on the appropriate form, a roster of the children expected to play in the upcoming season by October 1 of each year.

 

 

 

Each school is responsible to carry interscholastic insurance coverage on each athlete. MJCSSL is not responsible in any way for any injury to a student athlete, parent or coaching staff occurring during practice or games. Proof of insurance must be forwarded to the administrator of MJCSSL by June 1 of each year and will be kept on record for (1) year.

 

 

 

There will be no league administration fees. If the majority of participants agree, a fund will be created to purchase trophies for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place. A representative from a school will be elected by majority to administrate the procurement of the trophies for the upcoming season. The Administration of MJCSSL will have no responsibility for the procurement of trophies or the administration of funds.

 

 

 

A team will consist of no less than 12 players and no more than 21 players.

 

 

The teams will be made up of children from grades 5-8. And can be co-ed or same sex, the make-up of the team is left to the discretion of the AD of the school. Please bear in mind a same sex team will play co-ed teams.

 

 

Players must play in a minimum of 6 games to be eligible to play in the playoffs or championship games

 

 

Team colors will be approved by the Administrator of MJCSSL by June 10 of each year.

 

 

 

Prior to each game, the coach of each team will present the referee with a game card filled out with the appropriate vetting information of each player. Any players not listed on the cards will not be allowed to play. This card will become permanent record of the game and saved for (1) year.

 

 

All games will be played by FIFA rules.

 

 

 

Referee will be as follows:

 

 

           (one) Senior adult referee for regular season games

 Playoffs and Championship will have 2 ref

The referee(s) will be certified in NJ as a grade 8 or better

 

 

 The referee(s) will be at a minimum 21 years old

 

 

 

Referees will be assigned by the administrator of MJCSSL

 

 

Referee fees will be the responsibility of the home team.

 

 

Fees will be $50.00 for each referee for a total of $80.00 /game to be paid in cash.(Some schools may need to pay with vouchers. These need to be identified at the start of the season so that refs willing to take vouchers can be assigned)

 

 

 

 

NO CONTACT OR SCHEDULING will be tolerated by any school AD of the referees. All referee administration will be done through MJCSSL to protect all parties involved in MJCSSL.

 

 

Scores will be reported to the MJCSSL by the coaches and the standings will be updated by Friday of each week.

 

 

Weather cancellations will be made by the home team of each game. Cancellations must be made by 1:00 PM of the day of the game and notification to the administrator of MJCSSL so referees can be reassigned. Replays due to weather cancellation must be made up in the same week. Preplays are acceptable with (1) day prior notice to the game day.
