Dan Barnson
Head Coach / Offensive Coordinator

Dan Barnson has 29 years of teaching and coaching experience in the Clark County School District. He has taught a variety of classes at Rancho High School, Bonanza High School, Mojave High School, Centennial High School and Arbor View High School.
Coach Barnson started his coaching career at Rancho High School. During his four years there, he was the head Junior Varsity and Freshman Football coach and helped to bring home The Bone for four years straight. While at Rancho he also coached baseball and wrestling. Coach Barnson then moved to Bonanza and spent one year guiding the Freshman football team and Junior Varsity baseball team. Coach Barnson's next opportunity was to open a brand new school, Mojave High School, in 1996. Mr. Barnson coached football at all levels during his stay at Mojave. He spent a year as the varsity offensive coordinator and also coached the first and only undefeated team in Mojave High school football history. Coach Barnson then chose to move to Centennial High School and was a varsity assistant and a Head JV Coach during his two year stay. Coach Barnson then spent the next 12 years as head coach leading the Arbor View Aggies. He compiled a 104 - 33 overall record, 92 - 17 during the last nine seasons, during which six Northwest Division League Championships were brought back to Arbor View, plus a 2018 Regional championship. The Aggies made the playoffs for nine straight seasons, winning their first round game each year, while also playing in five consecutive Regional Championship games. Coach Barnson became the 22nd coach in Nevada history to win 100+ career varsity games as a head coach. Coach Barnson was resently selected into the Clark County High School Football Coaches Hall of Fame, class of 2021.
Coach Barnson is married to Kristin, a counselor with the CCSD, and has two children, Nick and Alison. Coach Barnson is originally from Las Vegas and is a product of the CCSD. He graduated from Bonanza High School in 1988 and received both his bachelors and masters degrees from UNLV. Coach spends his free time with his family, on his bass boat fishing for bass, and simply enjoying the outdoors.
John Gibbons
Defensive Coordinator
Coach Gibbons has been teaching and coaching for 26 years in the Clark County School District. He has taught Special Education and Careers at Roy Martin Middle School, Centennial, Arbor View, and Shadow Ridge High Schools. Coach Gibbons Spent 14 years coaching football at Arbor View, leading the defense for six years. Coach spent the past two seasons as the defensive Coordinator at Shadow Ridge High School, helping lead the team to the 2021 Nevada State Championship game. He also has coached mens and womens volleyball.
Coach Gibbons graduated from Rancho High School in 1990. He was a member of Rancho's 1988 State Championhsip football team. Coach Gibbons attended and played football at Mesa Community College and New Mexico Highlands University. He graduated from Arizona State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Special Education and earned a master's Degree in Educational Leadership from Northern Arizona University.
Sam Toomer
Offensive / Defensive Line
Sam Toomer has 24 years of teaching and coaching in the Clark County School District. He has taught Health, PE, and Careers at Chaparral High School, Centennial High School, and Leavitt Middle School. Currently Coach Toomer teaches Health Education at Arbor View High School.
Mr. Toomer started his coaching career coaching Freshmen Football in Pocatello, Idaho. The next year he accepted a job at Chaparral High School to coach the Varsity Offensive Line. While at Chaparral, Coach Toomer also coached the freshman basketball team and JV softball team. After two years Mr. Toomer moved to Centennial High School to coach the freshman team for three years. Coaching JV softball for two years and Varsity assistant softball coach for one year was part of his duties. For two year Mr. Toomer taught Health and PE at Leavitt Middle School with Mr. Pat Hayden as principal. Mr. Hayden brought Mr. Toomer to Arbor View High School. It was a proud moment to walk through the school during construction. At AVHS, Coach Toomer has been the head freshman football coach, JV assistant, and varsity offensive/defensive line coach for 14 seasons. Coach Toomer also started the Aggie softball program by being the head varsity coach for three years.
Coach Toomer is married to Jennifer, a school nurse for the CCSD, and had two children, Tate and A.J. (Alexandra). Coach Toomer graduated from Clearfield High School in Utah in 1988. Coach Toomer attended and played football for Ricks College (BYU-Idaho) receiving an Associate Degree, and received his Bachelors and Masters Degrees from Idaho State University. Coach Toomer spends his free time with his family, going to California/Arizona/Utah. Going to Disneyland/beaches/Grandparents and running in 5K and ½ marathon events.
Scott Moses
Tight Ends / Offensive Line
Coach Moses retired from the Clark County School District after 30 years of teaching & Coaching in 2019. He taught English at Washington Opportunity School, Cimmaron-Memorial High School, Mojave High School, Centennial High School, Spring Mountain High School and Arbor View High School. Coach Moses coached football and baseball at all levels during his 30 year career. Coach Moses, and his wife Mrs. Adrienne Moses, currently are teachers at Somerset Losee Academy. Coach Moses graduated from Bonanza High School in 1984 and graduated from UNLV in 1989.
Rob Wright
Special Teams Coordinator / Defensive Line
Coach Wright began coaching in 1978 as an offensive line assitant and statistician at his alma mater, Clark High School. He has been an offenisve/defensive line coach at Clark, Bonanza, and Damonte Ranch, adding Special Teams Coordinator to his duties at Faith Lutheran, Valley, Del Sol, and Cimarron Memorial High Schools. He was part of staffs that won state championships at Clark (1993) and Faith Lutheran (2013), as well as helping Demonte Ranch to their first Northern Nevada State Championship game. Coach Wright was also an assistant varsity softball coach at Faith Lutheran (2013-2014) and Head Coach/Manager/Catcher for the LV Rebels Men's Fastpitch Softball Team (1993-2010) which played in the 1999 NAFSA World Series.
Mr. Wright was born in Anamosa Iowa, his family moved to Las Vegas in 1961 when he was two. He graduated from Clark High School at the age of 16 and recieved a Bachelor's Degree in Marketing and Broadcast Communications from UNLV. His professional career has been as a Business Development/Marketing Manager, mostly in the transportation/trucking/railroad industry. He has on son, Mike, who lives in Montana and lives with his best friend Kayla, a 100lb Akita.

Matt Smith
Defensive Tackles / Offensive Line
Matt Smith will coach both offensive & defensive lines. Coach is a 2019 graduate from the Clark County School District / Arbor View High School. Matt was a three year offensive line starter on one of the state of Nevadas top offensive producing teams. Coach earned numerous All Division awards as well as being honored as All State his senior year. Coach also was invovled in Wrestling and Track & Field. Matt Smith currently is employed by Amazon.
