2018 Vernonia Results

The 44th Annual V.A.P. Invitational Softball tournament in Vernonia, Oregon was held August 3-5, 2018.  Our team was undefeated and came away with 1st Place in the Upper Division after a championship game against the other Tillamook team, The Fern Café.

 

The Women's Tillamook Merchants team had the following All-Stars:
Sandra Valencia, Cassie Christensen, Trina Goss and Erika Bettis.  Our Golden Glove was Jessica Valencia and our MVP was Kelsey Petty.

2018 League Results

The 2018 Women's League concluded on July 18, 2018.  At the conclusion of the season, there was a tie between Tillamook Merchants and Werner's Gourmet Meat Snacks for 1st place.  Since a day for a playoff game couldn't be agreed upon by the teams, the decision was made to end with a tie and share first place.

The 2017 Women's League concluded on July 10, 2017 after a playoff game between Werner's Gourmet Meat Snacks and Tillamook Merchants.  After an exciting back and forth game, Tillamook Merchants pulled out a 17-10 win.  Way to go ladies!

We came home from the always-fun Vernonia Invitational with a 4th Place Upper Division award. Our All-Stars were: Cassie Boge and Pepy Munson. And our very own Kelsey Petty was awarded the Best Hitter in the Upper Division Award. She has a .737 batting average and went for a triple whammy...3 doubles, 3 triples & 3 homeruns. Great job ladies!

Here are the results from the 35th Annual Vernonia Invitational Softball Tournament on August 8 & 9, 2009. There were 8 teams in the tournament and we had a 5 wins, 1 loss record and took 1st place in the upper division for the fourth straight year. Can you say Dynasty!!!! Big Kudos to the gals for placing 1st in the Vernonia Invitational Tournament held August 5 & 6, 2006. We played excellent ball all weekend and only lost one game the entire weekend. The game that we lost was put into a downward spiral as Kelsey & Sabrina were injured during the game and the team's thoughts were more towards their injured sistas than on the game at hand. But the team that we lost to, was also the team we beat in the Championship Game. Way to come back ladies!

2004 Vernonia Tournament

August 8, 2004

Shooters (formerly Cedar Bay) received 1st Place in the Lower Division at the Vernonia Tournament August 7 & 8, 2004 after a 2 1/2 hour, 9 inning, Championship Game vs. Hollywood Video.

Tournament Awards went to the following players:
All-Stars: Carla Easterling, Trina Oleman, Jennifer Simmons & Kelsey Vogel
Golden Glove: Angie Whitehead
MVP: Michelle Beeler

Also notable is that we beat Morrise Logging for the 2nd time in 2 years. This year the loss knocked them out of contention for 1st place. This was the first time in 9 years they have not won the tournament. It was a huge feat that we all felt very proud of.

2003 Vernonia Invitational Tournament

Cedar Bay played a great tournament in Vernonia this year despite missing a few players for various reasons. We ended up with 3rd place in the lower division but they really doesn't indicated how well we really played.
