Girls Summer Clinic 2018
I am eager to announce plans for our annual youth camp for this summer. Due to Rill Gym renovations, we had to modify plans from last summer. But we will keep the evening format and go twice each week on Tuesdays and Thursdays in June. (6/12, 6/14, 6/19, 6/21, 6/26, 6/28). $75 per player.
One change we made is to add some opportunity for one discount – either a sibling discount of $10 per sister OR a reduced fee for those who might be on vacation during a week of camp (deduct $20 for each week unable to attend).
We are excited to continue our Mentor Connection program, which directly supports our high school players efforts to attend team camp and builds relationships among the younger players and our high school players. Last year we had a really fun night at one of our home games, with the mentees joining us in the locker room and right behind our bench. With the support of our campers, we even pulled out a nice win!
Feel free to forward along to anyone you think would benefit from the basketball and life lessons we will continue this summer. Non-CV players are welcome!
Please register by May 17th so we can get T-shirts ordered!
We hope to see you in the gym this summer!
2nd Grade Level
Our Little Dribblers Clinic strongly emphasizes fundamentals while having fun. Practices are Saturday mornings from 9:00 - 10:15 AM at Brownstown Elementary. Drills may include games and game simulations with shooting taught on 8 foot baskets. The girls will receive a t-shirt and basketball to keep. This league will run mid-December through mid-February.
3rd & 4th Grade Level
With the same principles as the 2nd grade level, these girls will practice two nights a week for an hour and a half at Brownstown Elementary. Games will be at 10:30 AM or 11:30 AM on Saturday morning (also at Brownstown) against other C.V. teams. Score is not kept in these games, and games are played on 9 foot rims. These girls will also receive a t-shirt to keep. This league will begin in early December and end in mid-February.
5th & 6th Grade Level
In this level, we provide both an in-house league and travel teams.
The travel level allows girls with advanced basketball skills to play against other schools. There is a tryout to make the travel team, and if a girl makes the team, there is an extra $40 fee. Those who don't make the travel team and still want to stay involved in playing competitive basketball can play in our in-house league.
Travel team tryouts were held Monday and Tuesday, October 23 & 24 from 6 - 8 PM at Brownstown Elementary. Practices will begin at Brownstown the first week of November with the expectation of practicing three nights a week. In early December, practices and games will move to Fritz Elementary School. Practices and games may be any day or night, and will change from week to week based on the Lancaster - Lebanon Travel League schedule. Games traditionally begin in late November and conclude in early February.
The in-house league practices two nights a week at Brownstown Elementary. Games are played at 12:30 PM or 1:30 PM on Saturdays (also at Brownstown) against other C.V. teams. We keep score at this level and the games are officiated by one PIAA official. Players receive a t-shirt to keep. We will schedule a placement session one evening in early November before practices begin in early December. League will run through mid-February.
7th through 12th Grade Level
Our Middle School Level has been combined with our High School level to give us better numbers, and is geared towards having fun and learning some basketball. We strive to make sure that the teams are even in this format. We have found that it's a great experience for all ages to work together to make it fun. Practice times are to be determined. Games will be held on Saturday afternoons at Brownstown Elementary. We will schedule a placement session one evening in late November or early December.
