WHAT IS THE FLAG FOOTBALL LEAGUE OF KANSAS CITY?

The Flag Football League of Kansas City is a youth flag football league for boys and girls ages Kindergarten thru 12th Grade.  The league is divided up into five divisions:  1st Grade/2nd Grade, 3rd Grade, 4th/5th Grade, a 6th-8th Grade Division, and a High School Division (9th-12th Grades).

HOW DOES THIS LEAGUE DIFFER FROM OTHER FLAG FOOTBALL LEAGUES?

The Flag Football League of Kansas City tries to create an environment that is enjoyable for players, coaches, and fans.  The league achieves this enjoyable environment by adding many "extra" features that are not found in other leagues.  Every game will have an Electronic Scoreboard, Dial-a-Down yard markers, and fully-uniformed/trained officials.  There will also be weekly "featured games."  Teams playing in the featured games will enjoy a PA announcer for player introductions.  The sound system also features music tunes throughout the game to enhance the game experience.  In the event of rain or inclement weather, the electronic devices are not used.

HOW MANY PLAYERS PLAY ON THE FIELD AT ANY GIVEN TIME?

This is a 6-on-6 league.  Six offensive players and 6 defensive players are on the field at all times.

HOW LONG ARE THE GAMES (TIME)?

The games are 40 minutes in length (two 20 minute halves).  Games start on the hour.  Starting times are usually 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.

IS THIS A COMPETITIVE LEAGUE?

While the main focus of the FFLKC is to promote sportsmanship, instruction, teamwork, and the enjoyment of the flag football experience, we do have a running clock and keep score for every game.  Yes, it is competitive, but we strive to make this league enjoyable for everyone.

IS THERE A CHEERLEADING PROGRAM?

Yes.  

WHERE ARE THE GAMES PLAYED?

All games are played at 12900 E Blue Ridge Blvd; Kansas City, MO  64146.

WHEN DOES THE REGISTRATION PERIOD START?

The registration period starts on April 1st.

WHEN IS THE REGISTRATION DEADLINE?

There is no registration deadline, however, if you register early you will get the early-bird registration rate.

WHEN DOES THE SEASON START?

The Fall Flag Football season starts the first Saturday following Labor Day.

IS THERE A TOURNAMENT AT THE END OF THE SEASON?

Yes, a tournament is offered at the end of the season.

ARE THERE TROPHIES OR AWARDS?

For the Fall Season, the Tournament Champions will receive a trophy.

WHEN ARE THE GAMES PLAYED?

Most games are played on Saturday's and start between 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM. There may be games scheduled during the week to make-up games from rain-outs.

IS THERE A LIMITATION ON THE NUMBER OF TEAMS IN THE LEAGUE?

Do to the limited number of fields, we can only accommodate a limited number of teams.  Therefore, it is important that you register your team now to be sure to reserve a place in the division you wish to compete.

WHAT IS THE REGISTRATION REFUND POLICY?

All sales are final after 7 days has passed from the time of payment.  Any refund requested within the 7 day period will be given in full.
