Coaches Mission

To provide an instructional, fundamental, safe and most importantly good experience for each young man on your team and to represent the Haslett Youth Football program and community in a professional manner at all times.

Coaching Philosophy 

-Make coaching decisions based on these simple rules:

1. What's in the best interest of the team

2. What's in the best interest of a kid

3. What's in the best interest of the program

4. Everything else

Coaches Expectations

2.  All coaches will participate in concussion awareness training.  The link for the concussion awareness training is:

3. All coaches will keep the Community Director (Jason Armstrong) informed of any issues with unruly parents or negative situations that may have occurred during football activities. Try to resolve situations independently, the Director will step in if need be.

4. All coaches will designate a parent volunteer coordinator for their team to schedule volunteers for concessions, chain gangs, clock operator, etc.

5. All coaches will attend special events not including practices or games. Events like uniform hand out day, uniform turn in day and fundraising events, unless arranged with the Community Director before hand.

6. All coaches will attend a mandatory coaches meeting. Date to be announced. All coaches will be required to fill out a background check that will be submitted to Haslett Community Ed. at the meeting. All coaches will have to complete the State of Michigan concussion training. Completed training forms must be turned into Haslett Community Ed. 

7. All coaches will hold a parent meeting sometime during the first week of practice. Coaches will give their parents their expectations for the season, a practice schedule and discuss team rules, etc. Discuss our communication policy. Observe the 24 hr. rule, discuss playing time, positions, etc. away from practices or games via email, text or phone call.

8. All coaches will be given Haslett Football hats. Coaches are expected to wear at least their hats while coaching on game day helping  to identify who are coaches.

* Lastly, being a coach is a great responsibility! Remember that you have an opportunity to make a huge impact in these boys life. We as coaches have an opportunity to teach these young boys and young men life lessons that they will carry with them through out their lives!

Coaches Home Game Day Expectations

1. If your team is the first home game, please have your coaches/team arrive an 1 1/2 hrs. early to set-up the game field.

2. If your team is the last home game , please have your coaches/team help tear down the game field.
