Kent Recreation Men's Basketball Rules & Restrictions
All high school basketball rules apply unless otherwise stated. The following is a list of exceptions and/or rules to keep in mind:
Game Play
- Games consist of two 20-minute halves.
- Time will run non-stop throughout each half except for during the last two minutes of each half.
- A player will foul out at 6 fouls per game.
- Bonus at 7 team fouls per half.
- Double-bonus at 10 team fouls per half.
- For bonus purposes, all overtime periods are considered an extension of the second half.
Players, Rosters & Eligibility
- All players must be at least 23 years of age as of the first game of the season.
- Teams must have at least 8 players on their roster; there is no maximum.
- Only ROSTER players who have played (or attended if injured/sick) in five of their team's regular season games are eligible for the playoffs. There will be no exceptions to this rule.
- The first and last names of every player present for a team must be written in the book in order for that person to be counted as present at a particular game. First names without last names will NOT be counted.
Zero Tolerance Policy
- Any player who is ejected from a game by an official will automatically be suspended according to the parameters as laid out on the detailed "Rules & Regulations" page which can be accessed from the link at the bottom of this page.
- Alcohol is not permitted on school grounds, which includes parking lots.
