Jim Thrash - Head Coach (2004-present)
 
A 1973 graduate of Marietta High School, a 1977 graduate of Marietta College (B.S. in Comprehensive Social Studies) and a 1983 graduate of Ohio University (M.Ed in Guidance & Counseling). Jim spent 37 years as a teacher and counselor in Wood County WV and Marietta High School (1988-2013).  After being an Asst. Baseball Coach at Parkersburg High School for five seasons, Jim joined Coach Larry Burke's staff in 1989 and served as a JV Coach and Asst. Coach for 15 years.  Upon Larry's initial retirement, Coach Thrash became Head Coach in 2004.  When Coach Burke returned to coaching in 2007, Jim and Larry became Co-Head Coaches for the next seven years.  Married in 1975, Coach Thrash and his wife Jeryl are the proud parents of two sons, Joel and Joshua, and the proud grandparents of Grady, Coryn and Lindley

Josh McKitrick - Varsity Assistant (2007-present)

A 1991 graduate of Marietta High School. Josh played basketball and baseball for MHS as well as legion baseball for American Legion Post 64. Josh received his bachelors degree from Marietta College in education and then went on to get his masters degree from Muskingum University. Josh is in his 18th year of teaching at Marietta and has been coaching baseball for the Tigers since 2007.
Josh is a proud father of Madilyn McKitrick.

Scott Hollister - Varsity Assistant (2012-present)

A 1998 Graduate of Marietta High School. Scott spent a couple years away from Marietta after graduation living in Columbus Ohio, attending The Ohio State University, then moving to Steamboat Springs Colorado before returning to Marietta to start and operate a Subway franchise in the area with his brother Dawk. After 12 years of that Scott then moved to Charlotte NC to pursue a dream of flying by attending Helivision Helicopter Flight School. Again, he returned to Marietta and soon after met his now wife, Kaitlin who he married June 6th of last year and are now expecting their first child August of this summer. He is now employed at McCarthy Real Estate as a Realtor. This is Scott’s 5th year of coaching the Tigers and 3rd at the Varsity level. #125

 

Brandon Herb (JV Head Coach)

Brandon Herb, a 1994 graduate of Marietta HS, grew up in a baseball family.  As a teenager, Brandon played both varsity baseball for MHS and American Legion Post 64.  After graduation, he attended Lincoln Trail College in lllinois and played collegiate ball.  After moving back to Marietta, he reconnected with Tiger baseball as an assistant coach under coaches Larry Burke and Jim Thrash from 2007-2012.     Brandon is married to Amanda, also a Marietta native, and they are the proud parents of three children, Addison, Aidan, and Avery.  

As he embarks on his first season as head coach of the JV Tiger team, Brandon quotes Vince Lombardi:  “Winning is not a sometime thing; it's an all the time thing. You don't win once in a while; you don't do things right once in a while; you do them right all of the time. Winning is a habit. Unfortunately, so is losing.”
