Young Yankees Honor Special Olympians; Send off to Regionals
The Maxwell Yankees showed their appreciation and admiration for the Westmoreland County gold medal winning Special Olympic basketball team in pregame ceremonies during opening day. Several Westmoreland Wolverines were on hand to throw out the ceremonious first pitches as our young Yankee ballplayers presented them with game balls and wished them well as they set their sights on another gold medal at the Regional Special Olympics at Carnegie Mellon.
