When does registration start for the season?
Online registration for the season will open on or before January 1st. Check this site for information regarding walk-in registration dates and early bird registration Registration typically closes by the end of February.
What are the age requirements to participate in SCJBSA?
Boys and girls can participate in the league as long as they have turned 7 years of age by January 1st. They are able to play with the league as long as they have not reached 21 years of age by July 31st. Go to the Rules and Regulation to see how our Divisions break down by age.
What is expected of me as a parent?
Ensure that your son/daughter attends games and practices diligently and arrives at the appropriate time. Also, encourage your player to exhibit good sportsmanship on the field and ensure that you do the same as a spectator!
How do I sign-up to be a manager, umpire or sponsor?
Email us using the "Contact Us" link on the home page or attend one of our walk-in registration sessions and visit the MANAGERS table, UMPIRES table or SPONSORS table
When does the season start and end?
Games begin late April for the younger divisions and mid-May for the High School divisions (due to MSHAA restrictions). The season concludes in mid-July
When will my team practice?
Practices are scheduled by Managers individually, at their discretion
Where will my team play?
Blanchette or McNair Park in St. Charles
What is included with my registration fee?
A jersey tshirt with your team sponsor's logo a 12-14 game season and at least one round in the playoffs.
What do I need to supply my player with?
Your child will need a glove and appropriate footwear. Boys are required to wear baseball pants and girls are permitted to wear athletic shorts OR baseball pants. We allow the manager's to decide what color baseball pants/shorts they will require so ask your coach about the color before purchasing!
Are parents required to sign up for concession stand duty?
Nope. There are also no fundraising requirements
Do you offer t-ball or coach-pitch leagues?
We offer a coach pitch league for children ages 7-8 years old. The St. Charles Parks Department offers a program for younger children. Visit their website for details.
What do I have to do to become a manager?
Attend our preseason Manager's Meeting. See the welcome page for dates and times. Schedule practices for your team, solicit help from other parents, be a good sport and lead by example.
What do I have to do to become an umpire?
Sign-up online or during one of our walk-in registrations. Attend an Umpire meeting at the Knights of Columbus Hall. See the welcome page for dates and times.
What equipment is provided?
Bats, balls, catchers equipment and helmets are given to the Managers. Umpires gear is also provided.
When will I hear from my son/daughter's manager?
The end of March for younger divisions, mid-April for High School divisions
