Varsity HeadQB/LB - Special Teams Coordinator– Coach Marean

 

 

Coach Marean's coaching record is 47-52 League (54-67 overall). Coach Marean was selected in 2016 as the Finger Lakes East Co-Coach of the Year.  In 2015, he was selected as the Section V Compeer Coach of the Year. He was also selected by the Democrat and Chronicle for the Coaches Who Care Award.  In 2014, Coach Marean by the Buffalo Bills and the National Guard as Coach of the week. Coach Marean was also been awarded the Coach of the Year in 2010 and 2011 by the league and in 2010 received the Finger Lakes Officials Coach of the Year Award as well. Coach Marean was also selected by the Wayne Varsity Club as the School District Coach of the Year in 2010 and 2014. In 2013, he received the Coach's Finalist award also. In 2012 Coach Marean was selected to coach in the Eddie Meath All Star Game.  He has been with the Wayne Football Program since the program started in 1996. In addition to his coaching duties at Wayne, he has been the Head Coach of the HSPD (High School Player Development) Camp -Sponsored by the NFL and National Guard. This Camp has involved on average about 400 plus campers each year. He has also been a Head Coach for two years for the JPD (Junior Player Development) Camp - Sponsored by the NFL and the National Guard as well. He went on to play football at Cortland State College and played both QB and WR for the Dragons. He graduated with a degree in Physical Education and went on to get his Masters in Physical Education with a concentration in Athletic Administration from Brockport State College. Since taking over the football program, Coach Marean and his staff have made Sectionals 11 of the 14 years. They made Sectionals for the first time in the program's history in just the 2nd year he took over. Coach Marean and his staff have also produced 46 college level football players in 14 years, 3 of them being Scholarship players for Division II and one playing Professional indoor Arena Football.  Prior to taking over the football program, Coach Marean was the Head Coach of the Varsity Baseball team at Wayne. Coach Marean resides in Hilton with his Wife, Jennifer and two children, Andrew and Megan. He currently is a High School Physical Education Teacher at Wayne High School.

 

 Varsity Asst. - Coach Liseno

 

Coach Liseno will be entering his 8th year as the Varsity assistant coach, after one year as the assistant JV Coach. Coach Liseno comes from St John Fisher College where he received his Masters in Childhood and Special Education. Prior to that, he received his Bachelors at Lafayette College where he started all four years at defensive line. Coach Liseno finished his senior year at Lafayette College as the Defensive MVP. Coach Liseno also was a standout player at Clyde Savannah high school, were he still holds a Section V record for most sacks in a playoff game (5). Coach is a Teacher at the Middle School and resides in Ontario with his wife Christa and son, Vinny.

 

Varsity Asst. – Coach Briggs

 

This is Coach Briggs’s 10th year with the football program and 11th at Wayne Central. Coach Briggs will be in his 4th year as the offensive Coordinator this fall on the Varsity. Coach Briggs earned a History Degree at St. John Fisher College where he played baseball, and received his Master’s Degree in International Politics at St. John Fisher College as well. Prior to coaching at Wayne, Coach Briggs coached the offense for Gates Chili’s Freshman football program for two years, and has five years’ experience coaching baseball at Wayne, Gates Chili and Rush Henrietta. Coach Briggs lives in Chili with his wife, Abbey and their daughter, Alexandra.

 

Volunteer statistician -Bill Marean 

Marean Sr. has been with the Wayne Football Program for the past 19 years. He has over 32 years of football coaching experience. He graduated from Binghamton Central High School where he played football. He went on to play at Alfred University as a center. He is a semi-retired restaurant owner (Beefsteak Mining Company) and an avid fishermen.  He resides with his wife, Judy in Williamson and they have 4 grandchildren (Renee, Brooke, Andrew and Megan).

 

 

JV - Coach Embury

   

Played football for Wayne Central H.S. for 4 years and 3 of them as a starter on varsity as Running Back/Linebacker. Was a first Team All-star as a running back and linebacker. He went on to St. John Fisher and played Linebacker. He has volunteered with the program for several years helping with the Linebackers/Running backs at various camps and practices when he could. He is excited to be able to come back to help coach and bring his experience to help the program grow. Coach Embury enters his 4th year as the defensive coordinator for the JV team, after previously working with our Varsity and Modified program. He and his wife Melina reside in Rochester. 

 

 

 

Modified Head - Coach Kritall 

  

 

Coach Kritall returns for his 7th season as a member of the Wayne Modified Football Coaching staff. He graduated from Wayne Central in 2003 and played for the 5th Varsity Football team. He was an outstanding tight end and defensive end as well as a Team Captain. He went to Brockport and received a degree in Physical Education. He obtained a Master’s Degree from Ohio University in Athletic Administration. He is currently a Physical Education and health teacher at Williamson Central, where he is also the JV basketball coach. He resides in Penfield with his wife, Emily and three children Cameron, Kelsey, and Cooper. 

 

 

Modified Assistant - Coach Wheeler

Played 4 years at South Grand Prairie High School in Grand Prairie Texas. All District D Tackle 2 years consecutive. Played 2 years nose tackle at UNT (North Texas), joined Navy in January 2002. Served 10 years and got out in 2012 after 3 deployments to Middle East. Married with one daughter (7 years old). Works in the private sector in the investment industry.
