Eligibility Requirements for Saint Mary of the Woods Parish Football and Cheerleading Program
St. Mary of the Woods Parish Football and Cheerleading Program requires that each student carry a cumulative grade point average of a C- (75-77) in their core curriculum classes and maintain a C- (75-77) average in each individual core curriculum class. Teachers will review and document a student’s performance each Friday while football is in season. If a student fails to maintain a cumulative C- (75-77) average in their core curriculum classes or an individual core curriculum class, the student will be put on academic warning in which the student will have two weeks to improve his/her grade in that particular core class(es). If a student is placed on academic warning, both the football Board President and the football Head Coach or cheerleading Head Coach will be notified of the academic warning by the designated faculty liaison. After two weeks, if the student’s average does not improve, a meeting between the student’s parents and the Board President and head football coach will be required to determine the eligibility of the student for that week.
The period of ineligibility will begin on Monday and will continue through the following Monday when a new eligibility report will be generated.

Disciplinary Eligibility
If a student receives a suspension from school, he or she will be ineligible to participate during that time period.
If a student receives a detention, the faculty liaison will inform the president or head football coach of the incident and disciplinary action will be taken.

Start of Football Season Eligibility
Because the football season starts during the first week of school, the initial eligibility report will start the second week of school or week #2 of the football season.
