Manager / Coach Responsibilities
- Exhibit respect to All Athletes, Officials, Parents, and Fans
- Remember one of your main goals is to teach Good Sportsmanship while you are teaching the nuances of the game
- Prove to everyone that you can be competitive without sacrificing fun, safety, and the rules of the game
- Understand the rules of game as applied to your league, including playing time and the procedure for a game protest
- Realize that knowing these rules will put you in a better position to educate your players and their fans
- If necessary, please prepare your field in advance of the game which may include laying out bases and baselines
- With the help of your players, police the fields for trash after each game
- Report all on-field problems and injuries to the BAA Program Director
- Be a Role Model who is not under the influence of Alcohol or other controlled substances
- Be mindful that smoking is not permitted on any of our fields
- Motivate every player on your team to perform to the best of their ability and remember "Practice Makes Perfect"
- And remember that once the game has begun, control of the game rests on the umpire's shoulder
- Arguing Balls & Strikes and Bad Calls usually has two outcomes one is bad and the other is worse
- Keep every exchange with a Player, Parent, Fan, or Official in a positive light
