Dear Parents –

Thank you for considering the Frederick Rangers for the upcoming baseball seasons. The Frederick Rangers, offers aspiring baseball athletes the opportunity to play baseball at a competitive level. It is the goal of this program to create an environment that will allow the players to realize their capabilities not only as baseball players but as young men; to develop confidence, self-esteem and poise; to understand that their achievements are a direct result of their efforts; to cultivate lifelong friendships and support each other; and to understand that sportsmanship - not showmanship, is the major ingredient in playing with class.

For the 14U fall 2020 and spring/summer 2021 program, my objectives are the following in no particular order of importance:

1) Teach these Young Men to have and always show respect for the game of baseball
2) Develop skills and knowledge to perform at a competitive level
3) Prepare players to compete at the next level and prepare for HS
4) Establish a work ethic centered on achieving success
5) Utilize baseball and its team first approach to help transitions from boys to young men.

Our goal as coaches is to maintain a positive and fair environment for our players. However each young man plays a critical role in this as well. Players will be held Accountable for their Actions, their Attitude, and their Commitmentto this team. Personal conduct and attitude that is not conducive to a productive team environment or negatively impacts the team will not be tolerated. Comprehension of these responsibilities, as well as your son’s athletic ability, talent, potential and coach-ability will all be taken into consideration as we evaluate players and select our team.

want to provide you with some general information to consider in your decision making process should your son be offered a position to play for the Rangers:

1) This is not a Select, or Rec Organization based travel program. We are a full time travel team playing at acompetitive level. There is no playing time guarantee and players will need to work hard and earn their time on the field. As coaches, we will put the players in play who provide the team with the best opportunity to compete at that given situation
2) We will be carrying a roster of 11 to 13 depending on team needs
3) If an offer is made and accepted, your son will be required to commit to only the Rangers during the fall/spring season. Play for little league or other travel teams will not be permitted.  Players will be asked to sign a Commitment Letter and players and parents will be required to sign a Code of Conduct Agreement
4) Our fall season will consist of approximately 3-4 tournaments. A decision has not yet been made regarding potential league play.
5) Our spring season will consist of league play in a regional travel league yet to be determined. We will also be playing in approximately 4-6 tournaments.
6) As 12U in the spring/summer of 2019 we will be going to Cooperstown, NY, a weeklong tournament experience. Due to the duration and cost of adding Cooperstown, discussions regarding sponsorships, fundraising and other costs will be addressed as the team is formed.
7) I do not have firm costs per player at this point. These will depend on final tournament selections, uniform costs, gear, etc. To provide a rough estimate fall will cost around $400. Spring/summer roughly $600-$800 per player. Sponsorships and fundraising will defer costs, hopefully substantially.
8) Offers will be valid for a specified durable tion and require a non-refundable deposit.

If your son is not offered a roster spot with the Rangers, I hope that you will continue to consider the Rangers in future seasons. I will do my best to touch base with each family either via email or phone once our roster has been finalized. I am more than happy to provide any recommendations or thoughts on areas for improvement.

Once again, thank you for taking the time to allow us to evaluate your son. Offers will be made to prospective players once we have had a chance to thoroughly review all inputs and coach evaluations.
