In addition to leagues during the fall, winter, and spring, HFC United also offers individual and team training opportunities year round. During the summer month variousAcademy Camps are available to prep the player for the fall season. Winter is when our indoor PDP (Premier Development Program) occurs which is aimed at advancing the player’s technical and tactical training. During the Spring months we host our yearly Spring Academy which further challenges our player’s development preparing them for the late spring tryout sessions. During most training sessions various specialized activities are available, including goalkeeper training. Please visit our individual pages for further details, dates, and registration information:

PDP (Premier Development Program)
PDP (Premier Development Program)
HFC’s winter Premier Development Program (PDP) provides all players the opportunity to become a better player using professional coaches for an eight week session throughout the winter months. Our PDP is a cutting edge program no other club or travel group offers in the greater Baltimore metro area. The program is reviewed each year for enhancement opportunities and will continue to set the bar on soccer training. This program will be like no other – a tremendous opportunity for our age groups.
PDP provides players the opportunity to spend important time with the ball. For players, who play both Fall and Spring, the opportunity to progress between the seasons; and allows the remaining players, who play just one of the seasons, the opportunity to either wind-up their past season or get a taste of what to work-on before the beginning of next season. In all events, HFC’s PDP helps players to master “the greatest game in the world.”
The PDP curriculum is specifically developed so as to be geared towards challenging each player with skill, age and talent-level topics, and activities. By its very design of training, some of the content will be new material while some content will be topics presented to the players in the past, but now, the limit on time and space will be more demanding.
HFC feels that the soccer development of its players is best described as a marathon. It takes countless hours to develop ball mastery and good decision making. As with everything, it is obvious that the more a player plays/trains, the better they will become.
This year HFC is offering team training for its HFC teams. HFC coaches are responsible for setting up team training if desired.

Soccer Source 360’s Caribbean Coaches Camp will be directed by Lincoln Phillips. SS360 director, John Dingle, first met Lincoln when John attended the Lincoln Phillips Soccer School. John was reacquainted with Linc at the National Coaching School where Lincoln was an instructor. Later, the two worked side by side teaching coaching courses throughout Maryland for MSYSA. Read more about Lincoln in the column on the left.
The Caribbean Coaches Camp will feature a Caribbean coaching staff. This staff will bring Caribbean excitement and flair to the players in an effort to bring out each player’s soccer personality.
The camp has been scheduled in the evening to avoid the possibility of high temperatures during part of the day. This will allow players to be challenged throughout each session.
Each evening session will start with a thorough warm up. Players will then begin technical work. Unique to Caribbean coaching, the technical work incorporates more then one technique in each activity. This form of repetitive coaching is growing as research has proved players gain more from these more game-like activities. The session progresses into age- appropriate activities with opposition and direction so that players can be challenged to have clean skill when faced with decision-making. Each day ends with a small-sided game.

Approach: Two men’s and two women’s college coaches will train a limited number of players each day. The group of coaches will be a combination of NCAA Division I, II and III coaches. Through the course of the week each player will experience working with ten college coaches.
An Under Armour camp shirt will be numbered and provided for each camper. Prior to the camp, each player will need to fill out a player profile that will distributed to each college coach. The profile will include the number the player will be wearing during the camp.
During lunch, 12:00-1:00, lectures of college life, the student-athlete experience, and college soccer will be given. Each coach will also present information on their university.
- Academic demands
- Nutrition
- Soccer‘s demand on the student athlete
- Socialization in college
- Student Life
Environment: A limited number of players with the goal of playing collegiate soccer combined with college coaches will create a challenging environment that fosters player development.
Camp format:
- 9:00-9:20 Warm Up
- 9:20-10:00 Individual Skill Work
- 10:00-11:00 Small Group Tactics

Dutch Soccer School is designed for players looking for camps with guaranteed top-level instruction in a fun-learning environment. To guarantee the Dutch way of coaching, the coaches are flown in from the Netherlands.
Soccer fans around the world admire the Dutch style of play. Players like Johan Cruyff, Marco van Basten, Dennis Bergkamp, Robin van Persie and Arjen Robben have set a standard for exciting, creative play. For the past 40 years, the Dutch have played a vital role in International soccer. The top Dutch soccer clubs have shown well in every major European Cup competition, while Dutch players have been and are currently playing for the most successful European clubs.
How did a tiny country like Holland become a world soccer leader? One major reason is that coaches in the Netherlands are high-level educators who truly teach the game. In addition, the Royal Dutch Football Federation (KNVB) is a global leader in creating development programs for young players.
At its foundation stands Rinus Michels, the man who ‘invented’ Total Soccer in the ’70’s. His ideas are the basis of all the Dutch Soccer School programs, founded on the premise that the player’s ball control and tactical development always receive top priority in training.
This unique program goes far beyond the static regimented training environment employed by most camps. Technical and tactical instruction are conducted through the application of small-sided games so that players experience a training environment that replicates the real game.
Under the watchful eye of our Dutch trained coaching staff, players will begin to know what to do, how to do it and when to do it — at the technical speed that is required in the modern game.
We group players according to age and ability, making their experience challenging and enjoyable. Based on staff assessment and recommendation, individuals may be moved to higher-level groups as the camp progresses.
Our programs are designed to help players achieve their maximum potential through progressive exercises that are individually challenging, as well as appropriate to the age and ability of each player.
