2025 MASA Ground Rules
BEN NESSING - FIELDS I AND II:
Any ball batted, thrown or deflected leaving the enclosed playing area shall be ruled on by the umpire according to A.S.A. rules.
Any ball going into, behind or hitting a player on the bench area shall be ruled DEAD.
An overthrown ball is DEAD from the edge of the dugout to the fence behind the player's bench.
From the end of the player's bench to the outfield the ball is in PLAY.
Equipment shall be kept in the player's bench area, behind the fence in front of the player's bench.
The umpire shall remind teams to keep their equipment in the designated area.
Any ball hitting equipment not in the designated area shall be ruled DEAD.
Any foul ball that hits a light pole beyond the player's bench is out of play.
Any untouched, batted ball that goes through the access openings in the outfield fence shall be ruled a GROUND-RULE DOUBLE.
