Covid-19 Gym Protocols & Guidelines

NOTE: All Guidelines are subject to change

Aquinas Academy – Livingston

·       Everyone must wear a mask - 2 Fans per player max

·       No teams and fans in gym until the previous game is over and out of gym

Good Shepherd - Nutley

·       Masks required. No exceptions

·       $2 per person, $1 for children 12 and under, $5 per Family of 4 or more.

·       Will not be disinfecting but suggest bringing hand sanitizers.

·       Players and coaches can enter the building 15 minutes before the start time of their game even if the previous game has not ended. This is to allow players to come in from the cold and be at room temperature to be ready for game warm-ups once the previous game ends. They may not enter the gym until the previous team has vacated the bench.

·       Spectators cannot enter the building until spectators from the previous gym have left the building. Please be considerate and leave once your game has ended to allow the next group to come into the building.

OLS – South Orange

·       Everyone must wear a mask.

·       Please enter from the gym doors on Academy St. Use the left gym doors labeled "enter."

·       Exit on the left hand gym doors labeled "exit"

Our Lady of the Lake – Verona

Spectators: We will allow only 2 spectator per player per game. No exceptions. All spectators must wear masks. This may change but we will do our best to accommodate. Spectators sit OPPOSITE team benches or in available seating at the west end of the gym. Spectators are not to sit or stand at the end of team benches or crowd near entrances.

Entry: All players, coaches and fans enter through the same door and must wear masks upon entry. We will be trying to stagger entry times to promote quick exit of departing teams/spectators and safe entry for arriving teams 

Entry time: Arriving players, coaches may enter the school NO earlier than 30 min ahead of game time.**This may get reduced if a game ahead of yours is running long. The gym is small and the stairwell gets too crowded. Spectators are asked to await entry in cars until 15 minutes before game time. On days when there are back to back games, we may require the teams for the 2nd game to wait in the auditorium to allow the gym to clear out. Only actively competing teams may be in the gym at one time. 

Departing Teams: Players, coaches and spectators who have completed their game must depart the Lake gym immediately following brief post game talks. The teams awaiting their warm up cannot enter until departing teams and spectators have cleared.

Side Note: EXIT ROUTES: We will consider using an alternate exit for departing teams and spectators to mitigate crowding where possible. TBD on this. 

SNACK BAR may not be in service for this season. 

St. Aloysius – Caldwell

·       Everyone must wear a mask 

·       No teams and fans in gym until the previous game is over and out of gym

St Cassian – Upper Montclair

·       Limited to NO fans

·       Everyone must wear a mask

·       Enter one door, exit through another - yes

·       No teams and fans in gym until the previous game is over and out of gym - yes. 

·       We will disinfect after each game. So we scheduled extra time between games. So no arriving too early for games.

St. Catherine – Cedar Grove

• St. Catherine has no fan limitation
• Masks are to be worn at all times
• Teams playing next games onward will need to wait until the prior game is finished, left the school and the gym cleaned.
• We will charge at the door $2 per spectator (helps offset the ref fee)

St. Joseph – East Orange

·       Limited to 2 fans per player

·       Everyone must wear a mask

·       Enter one door, exit through another 

·       No teams and fans in gym until the previous game is over and out of gym

St. Joseph – Maplewood

·       Mask must be worn at all times

·       Players and coaches can enter gym 20 minutes prior to game time

·       Fans for next game should wait until previous game is over and the gym is cleaned

·       Fans are to sit gold and blue chairs only

·       All Games will be Live Stream from our web site:  www.stjosephcyo.org

St. Michaels – Newark

·       No fans are permitted into the building

·       Players and coaches only in the gym

St. Thomas – Bloomfield

·       Two visitors per athlete into the gym but our max occupancy will be 80. 

·       Mask on all Visitors with a Temperature check at front door before entering.
