"We Are The Future"

Originally created as "The Jersey Shore Chazers" in 1972, the "Stars" are now heading into their 45th consecutive year of AAU Basketball existence and have become a well-respected name - not only in New Jersey but also throughout the country.

As an 18 and under team in 1976, the "Stars" finished third in the Nation at the AAU National Championships at the University of Notre Dame. While this was the "Stars" first taste of exposure outside of New Jersey, it was not to be their last.

Over the years, the "Stars" have played in 11 other National Championships and in 25 different states and Canada, while playing against girls from 48 different states and 5 countries including Russia, Brazil and Yugoslavia.

Over 1,300 different players have worn the "Stars" uniform since 1972, with over half of them going on to play college ball and many of them earning scholarships to such top-level schools as Duke, Miami, Rutgers, N.C. State, Georgetown, Providence and many, many more.

All thirteen 2010/2013 Star graduates are now playing college ball on the Division 1, 2, 3 and Junior College levels.
2013 Star graduate Brianna Strahm is now playing college ball at Catholic University in Washington, DC.

The present staff of the Rising Stars is: Kari Spiess, Donna Anderson,
Kimberly Anderson, Louise Borja, Ashley Hunt, Mark Hunt, Lisa Spiess
