Big Green Machine continues to play hard

4/23/09 - The Big Green Machine had another stellar day at the plate. Eddie Ruela had 3 hits including a lace double in the 2nd inning. Joseph Dunaway also cracked a double in the 3rd inning. Coaches and parents alike are extremely happy of how their kids are performing in the field as well. Game ball was awared to Eddie Ruela. Great Job Eddie.. keep on pounding the baseball.. !!

4/25/09 - The temperature was hot and so were the bats of these Green Machine. Brandon Salichs had 3 hits which included two rocket propelled doubles in the 1st and 3rd innings. He also had (3) unassisted putouts in the field showing that this team can also flash some leather.. Gianni DePaz gave a clinic on how to field a ground ball with (3) putouts in the 1st inning and also contributing with (3) hits. When it comes to hustle, no one seems to do it better than Shaheem Houston.. You have to be ready to get the ball over to the base quickly when this little guy is running the base paths..
A speed demon who also goes after it on every ball. Once again, these kids seem to have a knack for hitting a baseball just ask Coach DePaz about Matthew Walsh who continues to rip the baseball. Matt had another excellent day at the plate with a screaming double and (2) hits. Game Balls were awareded to Brandon Salich and Gianni DePaz.. Congratulations boys!! Keep playing excellent defense!

American Legion Playing Hard

4/18/09 - American Legion Post 5 fought hard in their opening day matchup against Rahway Housing Authority. The team was led by David Hall with 2 hits including a double and an RBI. Matt Houck also contributed with 2 solid hits which included a double as well. Game ball was awarded to David Hall.

4/24/09 - American Legion Post 5 played their hearts out in 5-4 loss Friday night to JR Construction. David Hall has 3 hits including an in the park HR in the 3rd inning and just missed a left center field over the wall HR in the bottom of the 5th inning. Dominick DePaz (3B) contributed with excellent glove work in the 3rd inning preventing a few runs from crossing the plate as well as 2 hits which included a double. Game ball was awared to Dominick DePaz...

4/25/09 - American Legion Post 5 fought very hard once again with a depleted squad in a 8-3 loss to a very sound slugging Rahway Savings club. Anthony Muschiatti led the AM Post team with 3 hits including a bullet in the top of the first resulting in a double and scored a run. Billie Kluse laced a double in her first hit of the year in the top of the 4th inning. Congratulations Billy!! We are sure there will many more to come !! Dominick DePaz blasted a double in the top of the 5th inning that plated 2 home for the "Blue Wrecking Crew". Game ball was awarded to Anthony "Mooch" Muschiatti..

Outstanding player Game-Ball _ Andrew Gomez

1st inning action: Pauly Demilio was playing short-stop, caught 3 grounders and threw to Trey Watkins on first base each time to make the play. Then ran to protect homeplate and get the catch back from Trey.
2nd inning: Pauly playing 1st base caught balls from Angelo Aquilar, and Trey Watkins then threw back to them as they covered homeplate. Trey tagged a runner coming home.
By the 3rd inning, everyone got nice line drive hits.

Station Cab Learning FAST

Tball team Station Cab - DePaz For Thursday April 23:

Everyone was fielding the ball much better. Many are already hitting pitched balls. For his good swings and hits on the pitched ball as well as outstanding unassisted outs, Eddie was awarded the game ball. Congrats Eddie!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Tball team Station Cab - DePaz for Saturday April 25.
Basic understanding of the game is improving greatly. There were many plays to first on ground balls and second basemen and shortstop are beginning to cover 2nd base uninstructed. Well done everyone! We gave away 2 game balls today. The first goes to Gianni because even though he injured his toe and knee badly on Friday off the field, he wanted to play and play he did. He had 3 throws to First for outs and had some very good at bats. The second ball goes to Brandon for 2 double plays while he was playing short stop by fielding the ball, stepping on second and throwing to first. Brandons bat was also on fire with him consistantly hitting the ball into the grass everytime. Congrats G and Brandon!
