>>> Depending on how many want to play summer ball – we may not have a spot for everyone. In order to have a competitive program – we need to limit roster sizes. If you do not make a team – you will be refunded your $200 down payment. If you do not register and do not make the $200 down payment – we will assume you are not interested in playing summer ball - and you will not be considered for a roster spot on any team. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that and there is no obligation to play summer ball. It is possible we ask a few players to double roster – more about that later.

BOTTOM LINE: Rosters are constructed based on a number of factors. We also pay close attention to age rules and positional needs at each level. We prefer not to cut anyone. Ever. However it may be possible from year to year in order to have a competitive program.

>>> We understand summer time is very busy for most families with vacations, summer jobs, and other activities. If you like to visit the cabin every weekend or go on extended vacations – summer ball is probably not for you. Again - there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. There is no obligation to play summer ball. We typically have a 5-7 day break around the 4th of July and we are willing to work around vacations, college visits, work, etc. if we are notified in advance.

>>> If you make a team but decide not to play after May 15th – it is possible your player fee will not be refunded.

>>> If you make a team but cannot play during the summer due to injury or another extenuating circumstance – your player fee will be refunded in full.

>>> For the most part – our summer teams are supported financially by parents through player fees. Summer teams are not affiliated with Holy Angels. We do not have an official sponsor and we are not affiliated/sponsored by an American Legion Post (like many other teams are). We have received some private donations in the past to help offset some costs. If you or your business are interested in helping out please contact Coach Rothstein. Every little bit helps.

>>> Please keep in mind that most of our summer coaches are not paid – in order to keep the costs down. They are donating their valuable time to help improve AHA Baseball. If you have any concerns – please contact Coach Rothstein. My motto is that coaches coach….players play….and parents parent. Please go through me first and respectfully let the coaches do their thing.

Schedule Release

Home field for all AHA summer teams is Lower Donaldson. We share that field in the summer with Richfield 14U and 15U teams -- as well as some adult teams and other organizations. All Richfield youth teams have priority to book dates before AHA. The first domino to fall is the annual MBL scheduling meeting in early April (if we have a 15U team). Once the Richfield teams choose their dates -- we are next up. This usually takes place in mid-April. From that point we work diligently to get each team's schedule out to you ASAP so your patience is much appreciated. Due to field availability, cost, and other factors -- we sometimes play "home" games on the road. Weekend tournaments are posted above when known so you can plan ahead.

*The turf field at AHA is not an option for summer ball games because there is no outfield fence -- along with some other logistical issues (mainly the field is rented out months/years in advance to soccer clubs).

Uniforms/Equipment

Jerseys: We will purchase new jerseys in 2021.

Pants: Players purchase their own pants – gray with royal blue piping (Nike Swingman Dri-Fit). These can be found at Dick’s Sporting Goods or online for about $40.

Hats: Each player gets a new hat each year – same popular black/blue color and design.

Socks/Stirrups: Players purchase their own – must be royal blue if they are visible.

Batting Helmets: We no longer provide batting helmets. Main reason is COVID-19 but also coaches are tired of lugging the helmet bag all over. Please purchase ROYAL BLUE Nike Swingman or Easton helmets. NO HELMETS OF ANY OTHER COLOR. WE NEED TO LOOK LIKE A TEAM.
