American Youth Hall of Famers Honored in 2012

Three American Youth Baseball Hall of Famers were recognized at the end of the 2012 Major League Baseball season for their achievements on the Diamond.Just 20 games and three weeks into the 2012 season, Mike Trout was called up from the miners by the Los Angeles Angels.He completed the year with a .326 batting average, 30 home runs, and 83 RBI, while leading the major leagues with 49 stolen bases and 129 runs scored. Mike was selected to the 2012 All-Star Game and became the first rookie to be named Baseball America's Player of the Year.He also won Baseball America's Rookie of theYear honors, becoming the first player to be honored with both awards. Mike completed the 2012 season with American League Rookie of the Year and Silver Slugger honors.

David Price, a pitcher for the Tampa Bay Rays, led the American League with an ERA of 2.54 and went 20-5 in 2012, winning the Cy Young Award. He became the first 20-win pitcher in the Tampa Bay Rays' franchise and the youngest American League pitcher since 2004 to earn 20 wins. |
