The HVOT was founded on the principle of a Gentlemans Recreational League... HOCKEY FOR FUN AND FITNESS.

Players agree to do everything in their power to play hockey in a sportsmanlike manner and display good will towards their opponent and fellow league officials. The League is open to those players looking for a fun and safe environment to play a recreational brand of organized ice hockey, regardless of ability. On ice officials are to eject any player who are not upholding the HVOT Code of Conduct and report such violations to the League.
 
Players shall conduct themselves in a sportsman like manner at ALL TIMES. No Player shall violate the Code of Conduct, League Rules, AND NO MEMBER OF THE HVOT SHALL COMMIT THE FOLLOWING:

a. Lay a hand upon, shove, strike or threaten a Referee, Player or League Official
b. Refuse to abide by a Referee or League Official Decision
c. Use of unnecessarily rough tactics in the play of the game against another person or player
d. Verbally abuse (foul language) a player, referee or league official
e. Consume alcohol or drugs before or during the game
f. Damage the Facilities, Equipment and Jerseys
g. Knowingly intend to deceive or defraud the league (cheating, fees and fraud)
 
Penalties for a violation of the Code of Conduct or the Rules & Regulations WILL INCLUDE EJECTION, SUSPENSIONS, PROBATION and/or a LIFETIME BAN from HVOT. The league will, at its discretion, Levy such Penalties on a case by case basis.
