Player and Parent Code of Conduct

 

 

The Kahala Warriors Baseball Club mission is to provide a positive experience for its athletes, while at the same time, promoting skill development, self-discipline, team work and good sportsmanship. With this in mind, our players, coaches, and parents are expected to interact with each other in a positive manner so that the games remain a satisfying activity for all involved.

 

PLAYERS

1.       I will conduct myself at all times in a way that reflects positively upon me, my Parents/guardian, friends, teammates, coaches and the Kahala Warriors Baseball Club.

2.       I will not use alcohol, tobacco products, or illegal drugs at any time.

3.       I realize that swearing, bad language, and disrespectful conduct has no place on or off the playing field.

4.       I will respect the property of the Kahala Warriors Baseball Club as well as the property of other sports clubs, and will take steps to prevent damage or theft by me or any other team members whenever necessary.

5.       I will abide by team rules provided by my coaches. I realize coaches are volunteering their time to help the team, and I will show them respect at all times, follow their instructions promptly, and will accept their decisions without complaint or criticism.

6.       I am making a commitment to my team to attend all games and practices. If I am unable to attend, I will inform the coach as soon as possible. I will practice hard, play hard, and graciously accept the outcome.

7.       I will follow all of the rules for the sport, and will show respect for all participants in the game.

8.       I realize officials are part of the game, and I will accept their calls without complaint or any sign of criticism.

9.       I realize that this is a TEAM sport. I will conduct myself in the best interest of the game.

 

PARENTS

1.       I will set an example and conduct myself in a way that reflects positively on all participants, other parents, and the Kahala Warriors Baseball Club.

2.       I will encourage my child in a positive manner, and will refrain from criticizing his performance. I will emphasize the importance of achieving common goals through teamwork.

3.       I realize that the coaches are volunteering their time for the best interest of the team. I will not confuse players by countering the coaches’ instructions. I will follow team rules, and will encourage my child to follow them. I will support the coaches in whatever way I can without obstruction.

4.       I realize that officials will make calls with which I may not agree. I will refrain from displaying any criticism of officials or their decisions. I will accept the outcome of all games without seeking to place blame.

5.       I will respect the Kahala Warriors Baseball Club property, and will take steps to prevent damage or theft whenever necessary.

6.       I will volunteer my time, and support the Kahala Warriors Baseball Club to whatever extent I am able.

 

All players and parents are considered members of the Kahala Warriors Baseball Club, and are subject to disciplinary action by the Kahala Warriors Board of Directors for violations of the Code of Conduct. It is the players/parents responsibility to abide by any policies set forth by the Kahala Warriors Baseball Club. The Kahala Warriors Baseball Club reserves the right to terminate the membership of anyone with continued disregard to rules and/or policies, or whose behavior is determined to be dangerous to others.
