How does the Online Registration process work?

No commitment or participation fee payment is required during the Online Registration process. You will only need to fill out a registration form and submit it to the Charlotte Hall Rockfish, LLC. Within two days you should be contacted by a member of the organization to further discuss the player and the team. Should you not be contacted, please email Chris Strissel directly at sm1strissel@aol.com.

What are the age requirements for the Rockfish teams?

In order to play for the 16U Rockfish, a player must have been born on 1 May 1997 or later. Please realize, that experience will play a much more important role for any 15U players requesting to play up an age.

How much is the particpation fee and what does it cover?

Each 16U Rockfish player for Spring 2014 is requested to pay at least a $200 participation fee. The particpation fee covers most expenses for the player. It does not include the player's personal equipment cost.

What commitment is expected of Rockfish players?

The 16U Rockfish team will carry up to 12 full time players. A full time Rockfish player must be prepared to attend most of his team's games. Except for participation on a High School Baseball team, first priority must be given to the Rockfish over other athletic teams. Rockfish players should have the same type of commitment for practices and other team events. Should a player not be able to make a full time commitment and still want to play for a Rockfish team, he should state that he would like to play as a part time Rockfish player. Part time players do not need to make strong commitments as they are only invited to team events, on an as needed basis.

How many games will the Rockfish team play in the fall / spring?

In 2014, the 16U Rockfish team will play about 30 Games in the spring and 20 Games in the fall. The team will play in about seven tournaments in the spring and four tournaments in the fall. The team may also play in a league.

What locations are used for the Rockfish practices and home games?

The 16U Rockfish team conducts its practices outdoors on fields located in either La Plata or Mechanicsville, Maryland.

What guidelines and team rules are in place for the Rockfish team?

It is expected that each 16U Rockfish player, whether it be a practice or a game, will always show good sportsmanship, will be fully dedicated, and show plenty of hustle. Furthermore, a Rockfish player is expected to be at practices on time and to games at least 45 minutes before their start times. Good communication is also very important, when a player cannot make a practice or a game, the team's manager should be timely notified. Failure to live up to the team's standards could result in some form of disciplinary action taken by the player's team manager.

How is playing time determined for a Rockfish player?

The 16U Rockfish team will usually bat the line up or use an extra hitter, so as to allow more players to be in the game at the same time. All players can expect to play the field at least half the game. Usually, no player sits out more than three innings in any game.
