Southwest Austin Pop Warner (SWAPW) is a non-profit organization that provides youth football and cheer programs for children ages 5-12 years old in southwest Austin and surrounding areas. SWAPW is associated with the Pop Warner Little Scholars, Inc. organization nationally and is a member of Hill Country Pop Warner locally. Our program is designed to provide an atmosphere that emphasizes safety, academics, fun, teamwork, leadership, and pride.
Pop Warner Little Scholars, Inc. is the largest youth football, cheer and dance program in the world. Founded in 1929, Pop Warner continues to grow and serve as the only youth football, cheerleading organization that requires its participants to maintain academic standards in order to participate. Pop Warner's commitment to academics is what separates the program from other youth sports around the world.

Pop Warner’s philosophy has been that athletics and scholastics go hand in hand. At every level, Pop Warner programs seek to develop well-rounded young men and women who learn not only the fundamentals of football and cheerleading, but also the importance of education in an atmosphere conducive to developing sound character while having a good time.

GOALS
The goal of SWAPW is to provide the youth of Southwest Austin and surrounding areas with the opportunity to participate in a well-organized, well-supervised, well-structured, and safe football and cheerleading environment; where academics, sportsmanship, teamwork, and participation are the main fundamental values that will enhance the life-lasting experience of each participant.
Achievement of our goal will be derived by our actions to:
1. Supervise and regulate participation through:
A) Assist with the growth of the formation and incorporation of new and existing teams within the Association,
B) Standardization of safe playing rules and equipment; and
2. Enforcement of age and weight classification
3. Encourage the sustainment of good scholastic record by the players through monitoring of grades and citizenship and awarding appropriate recognition,
4. Inspire youth, regardless of race, creed, or national origin, to practice the ideals of sportsmanship, scholarship and physical fitness.
