SPRING CITY WINS CUP

The Spring City Savages showed they were the best team in the FSFL as they pounded Imperial in the FSFL Championship 47-10.  The Savages were led by Playoff MVP QB Brock Purdy who scored 24 points.  Why did Spring City have such a great year, one big reason, they had the FSFL MVP in QB Justin Herbert and the playoff MVP in Purdy. The only question, is Purdy the future franchise guy for Spring City and does Herbert become a free agent?  Spring City ends the year with a great record of 10-2.  This is the 6th FSFL Cup for Spring City and that ties Allegheny with the second most Cups.  Congratulations to Owner Matt Rutkauskas!

Pittsburgh has the most Cups with 9.

PITTSBURGH WINS 9TH FSFL CUP

The Pittsburgh Juggernauts defeated Washington County 48-36 to win the FSFL Cup.  Josh Allen led the Juggernauts to the title, scoring 28 points.  Congratulations to Owner Chris Lange on the win and an FSFL Record,  9th FSFL Cup.  The Juggernauts continued their domination over the American Division as this was the 4th straight FSFL Championship Game for Pittsburgh.  The Juggernauts were on a 6 game losing streak entering the playoffs, but caught fire and ended the year with a 7-6 record.

Washington County also caught fire entering the playoffs and ended a successful season going 6-7.

Pittsburgh still had a good season ending the year with a really good record of 9-4.  Pittsburgh has played for the FSFL Cup 3 straight years.  The Juggernauts also still have the most FSFL Cups with 8.

The Pittsburgh Juggernauts continue to rule the FSFL!  The Juggernauts defeated Allegheny 44-21.  The Juggernauts were led by QB Carson Wentz, who scored 14 points and WR DeAndre Hopkins who had 8.  This was an amazing job by owner Chris Lange, who won his 8th FSFL Cup.  The Juggernauts were the lowest ranked team in the playoffs and did not have many stars, but Lange continues to dominate!

For the Allegheny Barge, it was a good season.  The Barge finish 6-6, but defeated higher ranked teams in Spring City and North Branch.  The Barge have the longest playoff steak in the FSFL with 8 years.

ALLEGHENY WINS BACK TO BACK CUPS

The Allegheny Barge defeated the Pittsburgh Juggernauts 43-25 to win back to back FSFL Cups.  Playoff MVP Russell Wilson scored 18 points and dominated in the playoffs scoring 54 points for the Barge.  The win is the 5th Cup for Rich Druga and the Barge.  With the loss Pittsburgh still had a good season going 7-4.

Championship Notes:  With the win Allegheny is in second place with 5 Cups and trails only Pittsburgh with 7.  The last team to win back to back cups was not far back, Midway won back to back in 2013-14.  Before that, it was Pittsburgh in 2011-12.  The only team to 3-peat is Spring City 1993-1995.

BARGE WINS 2016 FSFL CUP

The Allegheny Barge ended a 10 year losing streak for the national division as the Barge defeated the Maniacs 48-28 to win the FSFL Cup.  The Barge was led by Franchise QB Andrew Luck who scored 12 points in the victory.  Four years ago North Fayette owner George Russi said "Andrew Luck will win Allegheny a championship", he was correct.  The win is the 4th cup for Owner Rich Druga.  The win is also the first for the national division since Allegheny won the title in 2006.

The Maniacs ran out of steam after winning two big playoff games.  The Maniacs end the season 7-5.

Spring City had a great season also, going 7-4 and winning the National Division, however the streak continues for the Savages as they come up just one win short.  The National Division streak also continues, as the division has not won the FSFL title since Allegheny won the Cup in 2006.

MIDWAY WINS BACK TO BACK CHAMPIONSHIPS

The Midway Blue Knights destroyed the Washington County Wolverines 42-6 to win back to back FSFL Cups.  AJ Green had a great day for the Knights as he scored 10 points leading the Blue Knights to their second FSFL championship.  Midway defeated Washington County 57-55 for the FSFL title last year.  Congratulations to Rob Bennett and his Midway Blue Knights.

For Washington County the season ends is disappointment once again.  This is the 4th consecutive loss for Washington County in the FSFL Championship.  The Wolverines did have a good season, winning the national division title and ending the season with a great record of 8-3.  The loss also marks the national divisions 8th straight loss in the championship game.

MIDWAY WINS 2013 FSFL CUP

The Midway Blue Knights made FSFL history as they became the first team in FSFL history to go undefeated.  The Knights won the 2013 FSFL Cup by defeating Washington County 57-55, the game a barn burner  went right down to the final minutes of the Monday night game.  Midway would score the winning points when Matt Forte went over the 100 yard mark with about 5 minutes left in the game.  Forte also scored the tying touchdown, in the third quarter that would have had Midway and Washington County replaying the championship a week later, had Forte not rushed for 100 yards.

For Washington County, the best player in the FSFL, Peyton Manning scored 26, but it was not enough as the Wolverines lost for the third straight time in the FSFL Championship.  Washington County had a great season winning the National Divsion and going 8-3.  For the National Division, the losing streak continues as the division has not won the FSFL Cup since 2006 when Allegheny won the title.

Facts about the Championship game and season:  This was the second closest FSFL Championship, the closest was Pittsburgh beating Washington County 51-50 in 2007.  Midway wins the FSFL title and QB Matt Stafford did not throw a TD in a blizzard.  The FSFL has something to shoot for in 2014, Midway did not have a perfect 11-0 record, the Knights tied North Fayette.

PITTSBURGH WINS BACK TO BACK FSFL CUPS

Congratulations to Chris Lange and the Pittsburgh Juggernauts as they defeated the Washington County Wolverines 52-26.  The Juggernauts were led by playoff MVP Tom Brady who scored 24 and has now guided the Juggernauts to back to back FSFL Cups.  The win was an FSFL record 6th FSFL Cup for Lange and Pittsburgh.  The Juggernauts also became the first FSFL team to win back to back cups since Spring City won 3 Cups in a row 1993-95.

The loss, which was the second consecutive loss for Washington County in the FSFL Championship does not diminish the quality season the Wolverines had winning the always tough National Division Championship.  The National Division has now lost 6 consecutive championship games.
