The Dave Clegg Affect - 1993 was the first year both Hoover boys and girls teams advanced to the regionals (& state) together. After that, it was a fairly regular occurence.

Russ Sweitzer decided to try running cross country for the first time his senior year: he went on to become the 1993 Federal League Champion with a time of 16:18, and competed at state with a time of 15:49, second fastest in Hoover Cross Country history.

Hoover Boys Host 1st Dual Meet - October 3, 1968 - In winning the Stark County Championship two years later, the Viking Harriers were said to be, according to a quote from an October, 1970 Canton Repository: "...Running as if tied together by a string."
