Safety rules and guidelines for M50BL - (2020 season only)
1. Social distancing everywhere, in and outside the fence. Bring a lawn chair.
2. All players bring their own hand sanitizer
3. No handshakes, high fives, fist bumps or unneeded contact of any kind
4. No sharing of equipment
5. Players bring their own refreshments
6. No spitting of any kind including sunflower seeds, chewing tobacco and snuff
7. Masks and gloves may be worn on the field and in the dugout
8. Umpire stands behind mound
9. Each team supplies their own balls when on defense and gives the pitcher a cleaned ball after foul balls. Umpire never needs to touch a ball. Each team supplies 4 new balls for single games and 6 (total) for doubleheaders.
The following rules are designed mainly to protect the catcher and first baseman, who are closest to the other players:
10. Shorten the batter’s box on the back end to 5 feet instead of 6 feet
11. Runner on first can lead off only 4 feet. No pickoff attempts at first base by pitcher.
