Who is this for?
CTK Track is a NEW program running its first season this year for all homeschooled high school athletes.  All registration and payments will be done thru the Christ th King website at www.ctkjaguars.come.

Payments
The fee for this season is $200/athlete which covers our track rental fees, meet costs and uniforms.

Practice Dates

Our season will run the week of March 11th through May 25th, 2024. Evening practices after 5pm can be expected. Our exact days/times are still to be determined by track availability, but we can count on the following locations and approximations:

Whitmore Lake HS: Thursdays @5:30-7pm

Saline Middle School: 2 days per week on either Monday/Tuesday/Friday after 5pm

Local Parks: occasional practices and optional runs may be held at parks around the Ann Arbor area.
Meets
Participants can expect 4-6 meets on Saturdays in the Southeast Michigan area. Meets begin late morning and run through the afternoon. Athletes can be dropped off. Parents will be asked to volunteer to help oversee our team area and with tent/gear set up/clean up.
Additional Information

As a new team and program there is much to be determined, but athletes
and families can expect a competitive running program which fosters a team environment, personal development as athletes and commitment to the program. Athletes are expected to attend all practices and races.

Parents will be asked to assist in small volunteer roles such as meet set- up/clean-up and team photographer.

This program is new and will not run the full scope of events. A focus on mid/distance events and sprints will be made. We should be able to run some relays, pending numbers, but we will not be running hurdle events and field events this year. Depending on the size of our team and final schedule of meets, not all athletes will run each meet. I will make every attempt to schedule all or as many as I can for each meet, but it will depend on how many athletes we have. Invitational meets for Track and Field have limited space per event and per gender.

Those who have run cross country may be used to all children running whereas track is a bit different. With that being said, all athletes will be training together, growing in community and personal development as a student athlete. Even if the number of meets is limited for us this first year, please know your child will have a great experience!

There will be team events and outings and of course an end of season banquet where athletes can earn their varsity letter and awards.
