- The commissioner has been a force in the league ever since it began. Parzych is the only player to never miss the playoffs, and he has reached the conference finals and beyond every year but one. He is the all-time leader in home runs, runs batted in and hits. Parzych was also the first person to reach 500 hits in league history. During his tenure he has won two World Series, two World Series MVPs, five Cy Young Awards, three MVP Awards, four Gold Gloves, two Barry Bonds Awards, two Ted Williams Awards, five Pete Rose Awards and also three Ty Cobb Awards.
