- Kires has slowly emerged as one of the league's best the past two years. He put up one of the best seasons in NSWL history this past season, but fell one game shy of winning his first championship. The five year veteran has made deep and entertaining playoff runs the last three years after a slower start to his career. He has racked up quite a few awards in his five seasons with the league such as one Ty Cobb Award, two Barry Bonds Awards, one Ted Williams Award, one Pete Rose Award and also two straight MVP Awards. Kires is also the holder of the only no-hitter in league history.
