Merchants win 10-inning affair
Jeff Gould's two-run single in the top of the ninth tied the game and Jared Purdy had a go-ahead RBI single in the 10th as the Jamestown Miller Lite Merchants edged Mayville 15-11 in amateur baseball.
The Merchants (9-2) got a win in relief out of Nick Salentine, who also finished 3-for-5 with four runs scored and an RBI. Joey Demers was 2-for-3 with three RBIs and three walks.
The Merchants play the Jamestown Elks at 1 p.m. on Sunday.
