Doppler Dan Makes it Rain in Victory Over Kindred

Fargo, North Dakota- “It was a big night for me. It’s not everyday that my entire family shows up, so I figured I might as well show off,” Doppler Dan stated after the Merchants 8-1 victory over the Kindred Kings Wednesday night.

Ross continued his hot start for the Merchants by going 3 for 5 with two doubles; he bumped his batting average up to .400 on the year.

“I’ve just been seeing the ball really well this year, all the extra soft toss this off season with the wife has really paid off,” he said.

This game began as a pitchers duel going scoreless through the first three. In his Merchant debut Andrew Thome brought home the Merchants first run in the fourth with a two out RBI single.

The Merchants would tack on two in the sixth and add four more in the eighth to break open the game and win their third in a row.

Five Merchant pitchers stymied Kindred’s bats giving up only two hits and an unearned run.

Dan Ross and the hot hitting Merchants will look to continue this win streak in Pelican Rapids this weekend.  First game of the tournament will be at 1:30 PM against Urbank, MN.

Notes: Jeff Nold missed his first night of Wings this year. He’s listed as day-to-day.
