2016 SHREVEPORT TIMES ALL-AREA SOFTBALL TEAM
PITCHER OF THE YEAR
Abbey McMillian, Florien, Senior
This Troy signee led her team to the Class B state title for a fourth consecutive season. She was 21-4 on the season with a 1.35 ERA, while batting .679.
PLAYER OF THE YEAR
E.C. Delafield, North DeSoto, Junior
This NSU commit was unstoppable on the mound in leading her team to a second straight LHSAA Class 4A state title. She had a 1.90 ERA with 96 Ks, while batting .418.
COACH OF THE YEAR
Lori McFerren, North DeSoto
It’s difficult enough to win a state title one time, but McFerren led her club to a second title in the state’s second-highest class. The Lady Griffins were 25-6 after a slow start to the season, but peaked at the right time.

Caroline Settle, Many, Sr., was 16-7 with a 1.08 ERA and two homers
Mary Terral, Cedar Creek, Jr., was 18-7 with a 2.84 ERA; batted .494
Kassidy Giddens, Castor, Fr., had 111strikeouts in 77 innings
