REGULAR SEASON FINISH GOES DOWN to the WIRE

What a Finish, C-Hawk Regular Season Races Go Down to the Wire

The 2016-2017 Catonsville C-Hawk Regular season was filled with enthusiastic crowds, great individual plays, outstanding teams and close finishes, once again showing why the Catonsville C-Hawk League continues to be Baltimore's premiere Sunday destination for youth basketball. If you like nail biting, down to the wire races, Catonsville was the place.

In the 10U Division the SEVERNA PARK GREEN HORNETS claimed the regular season title with a perfect 8 - 0 record. The Green Hornets were closely followed by the Maryland Sting who finished in second place with a sterling 7 - 1 record. The Sting's only set back came to the Green Hornets by one point back on January 29th. The Maryland Jayhawks finished third in the division with a 6 - 2 record.

If you think the 10U division was close where that one single point decided the regular season championship, the 12U division was even closer. Force Black, Force Orange and the Maryland Jayhawks all finished with identical 8 - 1 records. The regular season championship came down to the last Sunday of the season and the game between Howard county rivals Force Black and Force Orange. Force Black held off Force Orange to claim a 42 - 36 victory and force (pun intended) a three-way team tie for the regular season championship. Based on the margin of victory tiebreaker, FORCE BLACK was determined the 2016-2017 C-Hawk Regular Season Champions.

The 14U division was tightly bunched but the MARYLAND JAYHAWKS proved themselves to be the cream of the 14U crop finishing with a perfect 9 - 0 record. Maryland WolfPack and the Baltimore Rebels finished in a tie for second with identical 7 - 2 records. The second seed in the post season tournament was awarded to the WolfPack based on their February 5th, 53 - 46 victory over the Rebels.

Post Season Tournament play is underway this week with the semi-finals and championship games all to be played at Catonsville High School on March 12th. Award ceremonies will be held after each championship game. We hope everyone can come out and support all the teams. If the regular season has shown us anything, Championship Sunday promises to be a a great finish to a great season.
