Plainfield Tornadoes 9U Takes Some Time To Pull Away From Lemont Indians in Game 1 of the Double Header

Plainfield Tornadoes 9U and Lemont Indians played a taut affair on Sunday, but Plainfield Tornadoes 9U eventually prevailed 14-6 after taking the lead for good in the fourth inning. The game was tied at three with Plainfield Tornadoes 9U batting in the top of the fourth when Dylan Baist singled, driving in one run.

Plainfield Tornadoes 9U captured the lead in the first inning. Colin Coberley drove in one when he doubled in the first inning.
In the bottom of the third inning, Lemont Indians tied things up at three. Abdo singled on a 1-1 count in the third inning, scoring one run.

Plainfield Tornadoes 9U took the lead for good with four runs in the fourth inning. In the fourth Sammy Beringer doubled, driving in two runs and Johnny Mendoza singled, driving in one run.

Plainfield Tornadoes 9U scored seven runs in the fifth inning. The big inning was thanks to a single , a groundout by Jayden Perez, a double by Johnny Mendoza, and a single by Colin Coberley.

Adrian Perez earned the win for Plainfield Tornadoes 9U. He tossed one inning, surrendering zero runs, one hit, striking out two, and walking zero.

Brady Rossa started the game for Plainfield Tornadoes 9U. He went two innings, allowing two runs, zero hits, striking out six, and walking one.

Drew Lundberg, Johnny, Colin, Adrian, and Brady each collected multiple hits for Plainfield Tornadoes 9U. Colin, Johnny, and Drew each collected three hits to lead Plainfield Tornadoes 9U.

Plainfield Tornadoes 9U stole eight bases during the game as two players stole more than one. Drew led the way with two.

Lemont Indians tore up the base paths, as two players stole at least two bases. Phahm led the way with two.
