Tornadoes Win WSBL Championship To Complete A 21-0 League Record

Tornadoes beat Downers Grove last night by a score of 6-5 in Glen Ellyn, IL to capture the 9u WSBL Championship.  It wasn't easy as the Tornadoes trailed 5-2 going into the bottom of the 5th inning.  The inning started with a walk to Ethan D and then a fly out by Drew L.  Dylan B was then walked making it runners on first and second.  Sam B then drove the ball to right center field scoring Ethan D and the Tornadoes then had runners on first and third with one out.  Jayden P then hit an infield single to the 2B scoring Dylan B but then the 2B threw the ball over the 1B head and allowed Jayden to run to second, the 1B then tried to throw out Jayden at 2B but the ball got pass the SS and went into left field allowing Sam B to score from 1B and Jayden then advanced to 3B on the error as well.  This tied the game at 5-5.  Nathaniel O then smacked a line drive to LF which the LF couldn't handle, but he picked up the ball and threw a strike to home plate but on Jayden's slide, the ball came out of the catchers glove and he was called safe to give the Tornadoes at 6-5 lead.  No more runs scored and then it was up to Chase H to get the final 3 outs in the top of 6th and he did the job getting two ground outs and striking out the last hitter to end the game.

The Tornadoes finished WSBL play with a record of 21-0 and won the last 3 playoff games all by 1 run and in comeback fashion.
